A handful of people blocking main London Roads, motorways and the QE bridge ove the Thames. They do this almost day in and day out.
Yes, people must have a right to portest/etc but to hold up working people that are paying taxes etc is not right. Heard many stories where people are desperate to get to appoiments inc hospital appts and people trying to get to work. 999 vheicles held up, workers held up, sick people heald up, people are losing money and may be just about keeping their head above water paying their mortgae/rent etc and a small group of people do this.
We must never take the law into our own hands for reasons I do not need to explain but the chief of police needs to tell us why there are not enough officers to take these people off the road and the courts not locking them up e repeat offenders that break injucntions. |

“chief of police needs to tell us why there are not enough officers to take these people off the road and the courts not locking them up e repeat offenders that break injucntions.”
Chief of Police has zero need to answer for this, the Home Office does however.
They repeatedly slashed the numbers down, underfunded the courts etc & the CPS is as useful as a chocolate teapot.

The chief of police that covers the met area is repsobile overal for the day to day running of the police so I hold her accountable and that it is job to ensure the publics needs are being adressed. This has gone on for long enough
The chief of met polics is responsible for the totality of policing. and deliver an effective and efficient police service within their police force area. They are elected by the public to hold Chief Constables and the force to account, making the police answerable to the communities they serve and this in turn makes her repsosible not the home office. |

isnt enough police to sort it, thanks to tory cuts that decimate police numbers by 20,000 |

Cressida Dick is useless on many levels, but she isn't responsible for a decade of brutal cuts to the policing budget. |

Yeah, the Met. Which covers the border to the M25.
After that, it’s Essex which covers parts of the M25 (including QE2 bridge). Again though, they make the difficult decision where to allocate their resources, protesters blocking the road are a few notches down from considerably more serious crime which need additional resources.
The cuts are the problem, not the Chief of Police as they can only use what resources are available. And thanks to the Tories, that’s 20,000 less available officers to deal with incidents such as this.

"Its not only in the UK that people protest"
Yes, some people are incredibly ill informed when it comes to world affairs. Our politicians, social problems, achievements and weaknesses are routinely spoken of as being uniquely better or worse than anywhere else. One day we will learn that people are people wherever they live and there is no fundamental difference however seemingly significant cultural differences are.
OP, when I was 13 a school day trip to France was extended by many hours thanks to French ferry crews parking their boats across the harbour mouth - and that wasn't for anything significant like destroying our planet, they just wanted more money.

Thank God somebody is taking positive action.
The OP is showing the typical inborn selfishness of the generation that happily continues to pay nothing more than lip service to the CRISIS industrialized nations are causing.
He seems quite happy to leave our children to starve or drown after he has gone as long as he can pop down the airport in his 4WD on fly off for his citybreak 4 times a year.
SHAME ON YOU!!!!!

Just a few fact checks for you.
The Met Commissioner is NOT elected by the public.
She does NOT hold other Chief Constables to account. Each Chief Constable holds individual office in their own localities and is not subordinate to The Met. (although the Met does oversee some national policing functions, but even then, they work in partnership with other UK police forces rather than direct them or hold them to account).
She IS responsible for the policing of the Metropolitan area and her staff will make minute by minute decisions on the deployment of resources. Policing protest is one of a myriad jobs they do.
Given the paucity of resources, what function of their work would you (the OP) stop in order to divert more resources to policing protests? That last bit is a genuine question. They don't have extra cops waiting in a cupboard.
(ps. I don't think it's the fault of the Home Office per se either. Most workers at the HO are civil servants who have to do what Politicians direct. If you want the real villain of the piece, it's the Tory Govt.)
