I'm with you on Halloween OP.
I don't really like Christmas either...I refuse to put decorations up and I don't buy presents (I also tell others not to get me presents either, it's not just me being a tightwad). The only bit I enjoy is the dinner |

Same about Halloween and Christmas. But this year I'm making a big thing of celebrating with a Norse Yule at a Viking Settlement. Planning on hand forging gifts in the blacksmithy there and spending time with family, instead of relatives  |

Confession - I don't overly enjoy Christmas I think it used to be great when it was all about family but since it's now over commercialised it's just another day to spoil kids |

But that's not necessarily all bad? Around here the neighbours go to great efforts to decorate and it's a real community thing to go trick or treating. And for Christmas I love the community stuff too - houses with arty advent windows, Carol singing in the park, craft fairs, tree festivals. I want to see people out enjoying themselves and each other's company after the COVID shit show we have had. |

Also, I'm not into Halloween. I work in a nursing home and trying to explain to younger work colleagues that have grown up with Halloween getting bigger and bigger is difficult. They want to go to town decorating the home etc but I've spoken to my residents and they didn't really want to celebrate it. I have this week off to avoid it, I'm head of activities but would have got ignored anyway!

I used to love Halloween when my children were small and when I was small , but not now. It's sinister begging and not communal history and games anymore.....
WTF has Casper the ghost et al got to do with All Hallows Eve and tradition?
Same for Christmas. The PANIC that some people might not get a toy of choice is nauseating.

I used to like the 'bommy' collection when you could give them your old door or fence you didn't want.
Loved seeing the 'cone' grow before fire day.
We used to walk from bommy to bommy and even suss out which would be biggest from the size of the pre burn pile...... |

I was never allowed to do anything remotely to do with Halloween growing up (Christian household)
So I like to make the most of it now I'm an adult and have kids

My house is decorated for Halloween, I live in a small cul-de-sac but my house is the first one you see when you turn in and the other connecting streets so I make an effort. Have a projector screen in my upstairs bedroom window so have horror scenes playing which will change to Xmas. Pumpkins by my front door and either side of the drive, Halloween lights on the little pointy roof thing that’s above my front door, dunno what you call it? Even have bloody hand prints and bloody splatter stickers on the car. My daughter loves it though. Also I’m just busting for Xmas. As soon as guy forkes night is over my tree is going up! |

Ahha once I had dreams of actually making it into a career and maybe play as a concertist. I wasn’t talented enough tho to be at that level, I’m totally okay with playing tho and have it as a hobby and I guess I’m okay with my fingers x |

I remember going to Cadbury World a few years ago. We were given melted chocolate in piping bags, for making chocolate plaques or something. Mine didn’t get done, as I disappeared off to the toilet with my piping bag like a bloody junkie! x |

Now my kids are grown and parents I don't celebrate Halloween, Firework night or Christmas. But I do enjoy New Years Eve thoroughly. I only buy present for birthdays and Christmas for people close to me.  |

We used to do penny for the guy to buy fireworks and would burn our guys on the bonfire. Can't do these anymore so the tradition died out. |

That really depends on my mood, could be Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue to Shostakovitch 2nd movement of 2nd piano concerto or Beethoven Sonata 23 3rd movement with a great deal in between. If I was forced to pick a favourite piano composer it would probably be Beethoven but that would be a close run thing.

I used to fuck my high school teacher 2/3 times a week, every week. She taught me what’s what etc.. how to do things and the proper way, what women liked and didn’t. Somehow she knew I had only been with women a lot older than I was,and if it didn’t happen I probably wouldn’t be the person I am today! |

Always when I travel I put on nice underwear, as I am afraid that if I have an accident, the A&E people will feel disgusted seeing me wearing cheap stuff.
