Need a group for us more mature folk on here. Seems at 55 you get put out to pasture but there's many a good tune to be played on an old fiddle.
Thoughts ? |

Not at all, since I believe it’s more important how one feels at 55 that really matters; and not how old one actually is...
some of the 50+ have given me a better seeing to that the younger guys in many ways (be it experience / stamina)

I think there's some truth in what the OP is saying, people have age limits, that's their preference. But let's face it at our age we can still indulge thanks to fab, just to a limited field of play. |

I joined here again about 2 years ago after a 4 year break, I had good success originally, none now, so I do think OP has a point (could be a lot of other things than my age admittedly).
I put a post in the suggestions that Fab starts a site for the over 55’s in the same way that they have FabGuys. Not holding my breath on that though |

Some chat rooms I go to have a mature room. Seems like a good idea mate |

I respect people's age limits no problem but we all get older year by year the age limits stay the same. I reckon there are a fair few over 55's on Fab who still have plenty of life in them for fun and are more respectful of people too. |

The only person who can put you out to pasture is yourself. I didn't join here until I was 52 and have never yet had a conversation about my age. I would have no interest in joining a mature fabber nursing home. |

I'm not overly sure they are more respectful to be honest. Most of the abuse and harassment I get are from the over 50s |

Relax and stay cool, there's plenty out there who are interested in mature people. If they are interested, even with age settings on their profiles, they'll find you. So long as you scrub up okay, smell nice, don't look like Quasemodos twin brother, you're not a shrinking violet when you meet for the first time, and you can accommodate, you're home and dry. |

I don't think age is the issue, rather your perception of it.
If you think you're old and past it, that's the message that you may be subconsciously putting out, rather than a positive one.
Single men struggle in general but Fab has people of all ages looking for an equally wide range of ages.
There's lots of attractive men and women on here over 55. |

I also don't think a separate 55+ site would help. In fact, it would do the opposite, by automatically cancelling out everyone under 55 who would be interested in you.
You'd need to have profile on both sites... too much hassle in my opinion. |

Do you mean a specific Socials/Meets forum group within this site, OP? Rather than an entirely separate over 55's site?
I would certainly pay that a visit. Maybe as a 42 year old woman, I'm passed it?! But you look hot to me. In fact, I think me and Mr should up the limit on our profile (currently at 58)
Hopefully this thread will have prompted some deserved interest in your profile |

Thanks for the feedback.
Yes I meant more a mature forum / group place to meet others in the same boat |

My personal opinion is that groups for specific ages, especially older ages, aren't very successful. The same rules apply ie there will be popular and less popular people, some will be successful and some won't. On a purely social level restricting ages can lead to dull interaction. Oldies need a bit of youthful input and vice versa |

Its every ones choices i am sorry to say.
Yes most age searches only go to 50 years old , but we have to respect their choices .
I never let this get me down one bit. I have had pleanty of splendid fab times in the past .
So chin up chums and look for the jolly positives |
