A broad range of animal types are able to create vaginal plugs. The male secretes a substance after ejaculation that hardens and seals the vagina closed. These are only temporary but are normally long lasting enough to ensure the success of that males sperm in fertilising the female |

Mating is extremely serious.
One must consider the context, tone of voice, to include an uptick or not, whether your audience understands sarcasm, facial expression (particularly eyebrows). And probably things I haven't considered.
Use the word mate with caution and skill. |
