When I’m on holiday I always wear a bikini as do most others, but when I go to a pool here most wear a full costume (I do as well). Why is that?

I don't find normal bikinis practical for actual swimming although fine if I'm just lazy in a pool on holiday. Here I wear a tankini, holiday I'd probably have both.

They'd probably get told to leave if they didn't wear something.

land of make believe

I only wear bikinis ( I have a long body so they are more comfortable) regardless of swimming in the sea or a pool, winter or summer.

I do occasionally swim naked if I can.

Because you don't pack as many inhibitions when you go on holiday to save having to pay Ryanair for extra baggage?

Some very good replies and most make sense, I do go for a swim every morning before breakfast on holiday and wear a bikini. Then go up and shower and change into another bikini to lie round the pool after breakfast, all the bikinis I wear are the same type though I do find I fall out of some more than others! Haha

I buy my actual bra size for bikini tops to save this from happening although I do go topless on the beaches here and abroad, naked at a local pools, naturist bi monthly event, full bikini any other pool.

I would think bikinis aren’t that practical to swim in well most off them anyway

Most are fashion bikinis and the water seems to pull things down and out

So would think that would be one reason

As proper swimming bikinis aren’t that fashionble at all

You might need measuring again.

I get measured every could of years or if I put on or lose weight.

Although I do struggle too as some that state are my size don't fit my shape.

I wear pour moi lots as they fit my breast shape perfectly some are just more comfortable for my shape.

If I find a brand or design that looks good I just buy in different colours

Depends on the type, fully wired ones with lots of coverage and support are fine. The thin stringy ones you fall out of more. Tip, never wear a flimsy string one to a waterpark! I did in Tenerife and fell out or lost it almost every ride xx

Thanks. I thought sitting in a 4 person raft thing that you wouldn't be hitting the water hard. But half the time you get violently thrown out at the end! That bikini was definitely for show only, and so was I lol xx

Pembrokeshire

only have a full costume, never had a bikini.

But some pools have rules for full swimsuits, I guess it might be to avoid costume fails when you jump in? lol

It was probably the same one? Siam park I think it's called.

I lost or fell out my top about 10 times and lost my bottoms twice. I spent more time getting dressed that on the rides I think xx

I get measured once a year, the problem is not all bras are the size they say they are, it depends on the make, I find George bras fit me best as I’m a 40f and they stick bigger sizes, that said having one boob half a cup size different to the other doesn’t help lol

On holiday I swim either naked or in a bikini bottom only. If I tried that at my local pool I would be kicked out.

Manchester (she/her)

When I'm at a water park or swimming for exercise I wear a full costume.

If I'm just stuffing around and might not be terribly active I might wear a bikini.

Banbridge and Dublin

Swimming and swimwear is a bit of a funny one.

During my A levels, uni and beyond I worked shifts at the local swim baths and saw it all. It used to make me chuckle when the various milfs would come in to swim, usually with the hubby. The ladies would ensure that their swim attire got the necessary attention from all the other patrons in the pool. From sitting on the side constantly making those last minute adjustments, to the other extreme, swim one length and then walk up and down the pool deck (to the poolside hottub).

It certainly broke up the monotony of the job.

And I never saw a Borat male costume, although the local power lifters used to bathe in their budgie smugglers! Not a good sight!
