I'm very cynical and jaded. I recently met someone so upbeat and positive that I hope she will have a good effect on me. I do love my darkness but understand not everyone does. |

"How do you stop yourself from being cynical? If that's how you feel, how do you change your perspective?
"
If you think it's becoming a go to ...... just differentiate between that which requires some healthy cynicism and that which makes no difference to your existence and don't sweat over the latter. |

Lots of wise answers but no magic wand to wave to minimise cynicism!
I used to be so care free. My role in work has slowly added to my cynasism too and its supposed to be a positive charitable role! I just feel like I'm a darker version of me and there doesn't seem a way back. |

"Cynicism is vital to living.
Question everything. Think critically.
Don't stagnate in dogma.
The end
Maybe you think cynicism is negative - it really isn't. "
You don’t have to be cynical to question things, and think critically.

Have you looked into shadow work? |

"Why do you need to? Unless you're becoming overly negative.
Healthy cynicism isn't the worst thing. "
I'd say scepticism is preferable to cynicism. It's good to question and doubt but with purpose. |

Is cynicism a loss of something? Hope, trust, perhaps? If so then I guess trying to restore those even in small doses is one counter balance to cynicism. |

No. Can you summarise or shall I Google? |

Strangely enough I know this situation quite well. These kind of roles take their toll. All you start to see is the bad in the world. Have you thought of changing your environment? I know it's hard to just up sticks and move. Maybe a job thats not about helping people? So it doesn't totally kill your caring nature |

A job change is on the cards in the next year I hope. I just need to get my motivation on. A few things should slot into place next year to make it achievable too |

That's funny
What drives the questioning of what is presented before you ? |

I do my best to be positive about everything but sometimes my cynicism gets the best of me. Just from past experience.
It’s something I work on every day |
