There’s a few reflective and perspective challenging threads floating around today.
So on the back of these please come and share books, documentaries, articles that have impacted the way you look at life, self or situations.
Here’s a couple of mine!
Not guilty..defence of the modern man by a David Thomas
Mating in captivity by Esther Perrel
An uncommon bond by Jeff brown
Lost connections by Johann Hari.

- Come As You Are - Emily Nagoski
I'm going to paraphrase it, albeit poorly, there's a part in it about in order to be aroused you don't need to just be switched on by various things, you also need to have additional external stimuli turned off. Reading that was groundbreaking for me.
- Biased - Uncovering the hidden prejudice that shapes what we see, think and do - Jennifer L. Eberhardt.
- The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho

The subtle art of not giving a fuck - Mark Manson
The book definitely changed my perspective on things. It’s really about understanding what to give a fuck about and letting the rest go |

It's a bit heavy on the physics in places but still enjoyable and introduced me to the idea of Bayesian reasoning which is definitely a useful way of thinking in today's world of fake news.

Glittering a turd by Kris Hallenga - a story of incurable cancer and how one lived through the knowledge of it, makes you laugh, cry, take pause and be in awe of one persons determination, really puts life into perspective. X |

A few rock musician biographies shared a lot of information which was unknown to me. It's easy to see their stage persona as something to be admired but all too often the life away from it can be harsh, bleak and full of problems. |

The Ethical Slut.
It's a read-in-progress and has already challenged the societel 'norms' I've, until now, subconsciously accepted as how things are.
Looking forward to reaching full enlightenment by the end! |

'Gorky Park' - Martin Cruz Smith. Unlike a lot of what was written about the USSR during the Cold War, it wasn't crap American propaganda - none of the Soviets speak like the stereotypes that the American public wanted. And it's a cracking story as well. |

Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts… and yes I know he’s a wrong un and the stories are somewhat dubious.
It made me go to India, travel more in general and appreciate the simpler things in life |

It’s a great book… a reminder in many ways of where we sit in the world and we create many of our own issues in many ways. Change the way we look at things…changes the outcome |

Shantaram is an incredible book and very moving, it's nice to read someone else singing its praises. |
