The gender imbalance on Fab is discussed quite a lot. We don't have numbers for the whole site, of course, but we can at least look at what it's like local to us.
Fab only returns a limited number of results per search. If I look for men local to me, and within the number of hours for which there are complete results, I get 291 single male profiles who've been active in the last four hours.
If I look for women local to me within the same four-hour period, there have been... 12.
That's 24.25 single men to every single woman.
That's actually a slight improvement from the last time I conducted this experiment, when it was 26 to 1.
What's the ratio like within five miles of you?

Similar, I’ve posted a search I did a while back a few times. There were 30 odd Ladies who’d been active in the last week, there were 90 odd Guys active in the previous hour. It was at this point that I really came to the conclusion that it was better to not expect anything from Fab in terms of meeting up. |

Well, interestingly I was looking at fab in the middle of the night earlier, and normally if you look at the options for people online in the whole of fab it just says 300+ however, at that time, there were 10,100 people online total, and the numbers for women was about 200, the numbers for TS/TV was about 200, though the couples number was still 300+ so didn’t have an accurate read for that, but it did at least set a ratio for women at 1:50 |

I don't need to "do the math" to know there are more men than women on here however can you calculate the amount that read profiles and match what i seek?
I'm sure we are going into minus figures here ;-p |

"How do you see the numbers? "
1. Search for men looking to meet women within a certain distance from you. There are a *lot* of men, and Fab only returns a limited number of search results, so I recommend minimising it to five miles of you.
2. Count them. Stick to a certain time period. Again, due to the sheer number of men and Fab’s limited search results, only go back as far you have complete hours for.
3. Repeat the process with women looking for men. It’ll be a lot less labour-intensive than doing it for the men. Same distance, same time period.
4. Compare the numbers, do the maths, and tell us your ratio.
Right now, Fab’s busier than it was when I started this topic this morning. I now have 298 men (the maximum number of search results Fab will show me is 300) who’ve been online in the last 49 minutes.
Within the last 49 minutes, there have been… 21 women. 298 divided by 21 is 14.19, so effectively 14 to 1, which is a sharp improvement!

Within the last hour, aged 37-57, within 5 miles of me: 21 women, 293 men.
Very similar numbers. |

Does it matter… if you think about swinging as some sort of competition, then the mindset is all wrong..
Not everyone is going to want the same thing so ratio’s in that respect are useless |

Spot on - of the hundreds of men local to me within the age range I specify I'm interested in less than a dozen, most of whom aren't interested in me.
I still like the numbers though, always like a bit of data. |

"Is there a Daily Covid reporting style info graphic available please."
Next slide please!
The massive peak of Jan 2021 is the number of men. The piddly dip of June 2021 is the number of women. |
