I definitely do this. I've been watched doing it too but I don't care lol. I don't want something that's up in a couple of days time when I know I can get a longer date on items at the back x |

This is true, especially if they are still sealed.
As we did in the olden days, the sniff test generally works
Too many people think that 'best before' = 'use by'.

I do this, and I felt like such a prick doing it in Tesco the other day. In my defence however, the use-by dates were SO short, and not for items you’d usually expect. I can’t eat a whole packet of ham in two days! |

I always look for the longest date as they will be fresher for longer. A also will search out the biggest chicken when the price is per chicken and not per kg. I assumed most people did this? |
