What is it with people using phones...

Jump to: Newest in thread

What is it with people using phones in public whereby they feel they need to forego the use of the earpiece and use the loudspeaker, subjecting anyone within earshot to the contents of their conversation?!

I have absolutely no desire to listen the phonecalls of strangers! Just stop it!!

Grrrrr...!!

Ok....rant over

My old phone (just got a new one) must have had so much shit in the earpiece that unless I had it on speaker, I couldn’t hear it at all.

Luckily, I mostly speak in private so no harm done

The only thing that gets me is people who are face timing while wandering around the supermarket.

Next time I see someone doing that, I’m going to bend over and do a moon behind them

Market Harborough / Kettering

I had an eastern European guy on the train doing this the other day. He had the speaker volume on maximum and be was shouting down the phone. Don't think he actually needed a phone has most people in the northern hemisphere could have easily heard him !!

My phone doesnt work unless it's on speaker. People keep hanging up on me thinking I am not there. I stand in a cupboard or on top of a hill to speak though, I cant do public conversations.

BRIDPORT

You can only hear my phone on speaker these days. I never put things in my ear, other than disposable ear plugs.

But I very rarely have phone conversations in public places and if I do have too I make it brief, like, I’ll ring you back later, type of thing.

land of make believe

I talk on my phone to enable me to leave my house,if I didn't have this support then I wouldn't be able to do so.

There is lots more noisy, noise pollution than someone talking on the phone.

It is very similar to 2 people sharing a conversation standing next to you.

The Town by The Cross

Just the ones that shout.

The rest - I don't notice them using their phone for what it's intended for.

Just the ones that shout.

Shoot them.

I'm always on my phone although I use earphones mostly. It's the ones that play their music without earphones that I don't get. They just walk along having it blaring from their phone

They could also just put the phone to their ear. Old school lol

Hefty Hideaway

I was guilty of this before I upgraded to Bluetooth hearing aids. Worth every penny although they don’t have a mic so I still have to talk into the phone like it’s a walkie-talkie.

I don't mind out and about but when I get the bus and someone is sitting there with their phone on loudspeaker (very loudly) having a chat I think that is just rude. Ok, if they were on the bus physically then totally different but it's a phone, so use it as one!

I suppose at least they're using it as a phone. There's a lot of people that just won't make a normal phone call.

"The phone calls.. I can just about tolerate.. but yt or tik tok videos out loud...give me the hammer.. "

Last time I was out, a couple sat with there drinks watching short clip videos (I assume Tictok) for all the time I was there. Volume on, and laughing together.

That was really weird to watch, and f’kin annoying to listen too.

Right ? The art of real conversation is dying. Don't understand people who can't have a date without reaching for their phone constantly.
