OK. Serious question time.

How do you make tea or coffee?

For me, if its a teabag, then its water first, then milk after.

If its coffee, its milk first, then water.

How do you brew?

Tea:

Tea bag and sugar.

Water.

Take out tea bag.

Add milk.

Coffee (if it's instant)

Coffee/sugar/milk

Water.

I don't drink coffee but it's how my boss likes it, I guess to stop the water burning the coffee? No idea!

"Coffee:

I was informed that scalding coffee with hot water kills most of the flavour and caffiene.

Not sure how true this is, but I can taste the difference if the milk hasn't gone in first.

"How can you be

Mother??"

It never stopped Norman Bates

"Shall I Be Mother?" Is an old phrase/saying for the person making and pouring beverages, elevenses or afternoon tea.

No milk in any of my beverages (unless it's a milkshake). Thank you!

Give a change to tea and coffee without sugar and milk. Probably you would like them more without those craps.

For me, Americana, filter coffee, french press are the best. And I have a special brew technique for tea. It is the best.

Canvey Island

Look, let’s settle one thing first.

If you put milk in a tea first, then the water, you should be sent to the Antarctica to fight a polar bear.

Coffee: water then coffee but the order makes no difference in my coffee maker.

I was astonished when I first came to Britain at how popular instant coffee is, so much so that it was even sold in cafés. It's probably much less now with the rise of Starbucks and Costa but it's still very normal.

To me it just tastes completely different and is only marginally more convenient than brewed coffee. I only use instant for frappés.

Sorry, gone slightly off topic there.

Teabags!!! You savages. You can't beat a pot of tea made with loose tea. Teabags are only for the quick cuppa before work

This is true.

Instant/freeze dried coffee & tea are for quickies.

Loose or ground for quality.

Tea bag, sugar, water, wait a bit, take bag out and then add milk. Doughnut says you should put the sugar in last. But I don't listen to that, it's only in the last six years I stopped putting the milk in first!...I know, crimes against tea!

Coffee, milk, sugar and then water. We do have a fancy proper coffee maker but too much faff, literally collecting dust.

Danish x

We also don't have proper coffee to go in it if we did I'd have a cappuccino every morning
