On here I rarely flirt. If I give a flirty comment or a compliment it’s because I find them attractive. I’m quite blunt so whether that’s public or in private I’m happy to state my intent.

As for being on the receiving end, I find it a bit cringe especially when others can see/read it. I’d prefer blunt flirting as opposed to flirty flirting.

I think it depends on the person.

So for example someone who we've discussed we'd like to meet up with in the future. Then doesn't flirt whatsoever on the forum but does others that kind of sucks and I personally find it a bit rude.

But someone who we'd like to meet and flirt privately but doesn't do public flirting I think that is fine too.

I take it on a case by case basis.

As fab is concerned, in the past light flirting in public to gauge interest and more intense flirting in private if the receptiveness was there.

I am a prolific flutter especially here and would be in real life, however I have noticed that in today’s society I’m much more conscious as to the feelings of the recipient of the flirting and as to how comfortable they would be with it, thus I’m much more reserved in person.

Any flirtation from me on threads is light hearted. I prefer to do the real flirtation in private.

I have seen me step back from chatting privately to someone as I have seen LPP from other people towards them or vice versa on threads and so I quietly remove myself from a situation. I prefer not to get caught up in potential drama.

On Forum I regard it as humour. I may (try to) flirt with someone I've met or like but it's still based on mutual humour. Equally I wouldn't do it with someone I've met or liked if they didn't appreciate that type of public interaction. I think it's all about mutual understanding and respect rather than set rules.

On here? Never.

As far as the OP goes, I occasionally flirt with other people - I don't do it if it's going to disrupt a thread and become something that really should be private messaged - like serious conversations where you can tell the OP isn't feeling too comfortable/wants to get back on track. I tend to be quite a private person so it kind of follows that I don't often flirt in public (unless for a challenge).

I try and avoid LPP when I have flirted, mainly because I know (from being on the forums almost a decade) that there's quite often drama attached, the person is firmly in the no sharing category or one of them is a bit... fiery.

I also find it a bit cringey, much like some people probably find some of my posts. Esp if there's the big fallout shortly after. Or it's awkward. Or there's an argument on the forum. Assuming you mean on the forum. Both, but flirting in public eventually has its limits. If it goes on for too long or in the way of other things then it begins to cross a line - what that line means differs among people.

Private is well, essentially no holds barred and allows you to flex your flirting muscles.

Over the years that we have been on here we have seen some people very flirty with people, all over each other like a rash, then when things have gone wrong it's a mess and it's public knowledge.
