Morning all!
Hope you all slept well?!
I slept so badly, had so many nightmares. I don’t remember them but I know at one point I woke in such a panic I was outside my front door when I woke up enough to be rational (so glad I was wearing pyjamas last night)

Oh bless you. Hope you are ok?
I slept OK, just full of a cold and went to bed because I had the shivers and just couldn't get warm. |

Really good. I am having a good streak of restful, energising nights which matters as a lot as I had several bouts of insomnia rearing its ugly head over last few months and its a killer.

Hope you get a chance to grab a little nap or just take it easy today. Nightmares are draining.. |

Slept fine but had the weirdest dream I’ve had in a long time.
In said dream I woke up in the same room and position I’d fallen asleep in, so instantly realistic. Bits of furniture were inexplicably missing however, and then my daughter walked into the room, but about 5 years younger than she actually is.
I grabbed my phone to take pics, but wherever I pointed it at any of the differences, it would only show what was above and below, spliced together. I got out of the bed and pointed it back to it, only for the phone camera to show my daughter and her best mate sat reading a book on it, even though the bed was empty and my suddenly younger daughter was sat next to me.
At that point I woke up for real…..in the same position I went to sleep.
Weird AF. |

I've been coughing all night so I'm ready to put a pillow over my own face, my husband also feels the same
I never sleep well, I'm often up with RLS or really bad thigh/stomach pain. I've got Endo so coming onto my period is really painful. I usually dose up with strong pain meds but I'm not compos mentis on them so giving them a break for now. |

I woke up as I stepped through the front door. The light in the stairwell actually woke me up properly |

Pretty well I think, I am still in bed, about to get up. I think the cats are working in a tag team to come and pester me into getting up - they want feeding! |

I feel not too bad but it takes me an hour, sometimes longer to get to sleep and then I wake up either early hours of the morning or roughly 7 or 8 am. It's every night too x |

I think having a restful mind with no stresses or worries is the key to a restful night. |

Terrible nights sleep. But that’s because the moon is heading towards full. Always sleep badly when the moon is in waxing gibbous phase between a first quarter moon and full. Next full moon is 20th |

Omg, that is quite scarey! Do you usually sleep walk?
My 'lil bro pee'd on me when i was asleep, as a child, when he slept walked to where he thought the bathroom was |

I ideally need about 9 hours a night, but for the last few years that’s been in two bits most nights so I generally sleep 11-5.30, then am awake for a couple of hours then have another couple of hours |

To improve chances of a good sleep, develop these daily habits:-
1. Always Turn your phone off and start a daily digital detox no later than 8pm.
2. This includes FAB
3. don’t drink coffee or tea after 2pm
4. Read for 30 minutes before bed.
5. Take a walk - preferably in the countryside - for 20-30 minutes at some point in the afternoon or evening
6. Work - Write out a short “to do” list for tomorrow’s urgent/priority actions, so that you’re not kept awake/constantly mulling over random thoughts of things you need to do
7. Make your bedroom cool, quiet and dark.
These are habits I don’t follow as a ritual every day, but try to practice. I always sleep soundly if I follow them

Is that genuinely a real thing about the moon? I have heard people say it before but I kind of always dismissed it as hearsay. Do you think it is related to the moon or is it just a regular thing that happens to coincide? |

It absolutely can alter sleep and mood patterns. My ex suffers depression and I could always tell a full moon was coming because his mental state would alter quite dramatically |

It's a good list ... The only time I sleep soundly (like the dead) is when i get back from dancing at 2am, shower and crawl into my jimjams and then under the duvet |

This is a good list, but I would add Vitamin D, magnesium and probiotics.
Consider 5htp and/or L-tryptophan
If you wake up during the night, do not pick up your phone, you’re essentially training yourself to wake up.
The use of meditation apps can be effective too.

Excellent advice, especially important is the digital detox. I don't even have a telly in my room just an Alexa I play nature sounds on in the background away from my bed
I would avoid taking supplements as they could react with meds your already taking or exacerbate any health conditions Talk to a Dr before starting any supplements. |

I get to sleep very easily but then wake up to half a dozen times through the night. If I wake only twice that's a good night. I worked shifts, including nights for 30 years and thought at last I'd sleep like a normal person. Not how it turned out....bummer! |

I get plenty of vit D as spend at least an hour outdoors most days, although with winter it’s important to consider supplements if you can’t be out during the daylight hours (it’s dark in the mornings and evenings!).
I regularly fall asleep to an Audiobook (the choice is important), a mindfulness app or my white noise machine |

I’m not even sure if it was sleep walking. I’ve never done it before. I just think my flight or fight response kicked in so hard to the dream that I was already escaping before I woke up enough to be rational |
