I haven't had one since I was a kid but seeing as though I had a surplus of them from my apple trees I thought I'd have a go at making them myself......and they're delicious. A sugar thermometer was essential so a wise purchase. I'm feeling properly autumnal now.
Anyone else getting in the autumnal mood? If so, what are you doing? |

"One of things as kid I would always see and want, then finally get hate it. Like each year I may suddenly like toffee apples "
I like that toffee apple crisp coating but not the apple |

"Not a toffee apple lover tbh. Just waiting for the bonfire toffee "
I've been nibbling on a batch that I made last week. Very tasty. I'll have to do another lot as it'll all be gone by November 5th. |

"never been keen on toffee apples myself, but each to their own, I have made them, for the kids, but not for years."
It's that cracking that you get when you bite into them that does it for me. |

Loved these as a kid, even though the apple was disappointing.
My teeth jangle at the thought of a toffee apple these days, but I definitely wouldn’t turn down the homemade version! |

"When I was a kid there was roasted chestnut vendors in the streets. You don't see them anymore. Anyway, in Portugal at this time of year they are everywhere. "
I think you still get them in Central london |
