Same mate. I get Seborrheic dermatitis flare ups on the face from time to time and hate it too. Makes me feel self-conscious. But can mainly keep it under control with various things, in addition to trying to keep the stress levels under control.

Me & my eldest have this too but in our hair/hairline so looks like bad dandruff. Polytar shampoo in brown bottle is very good but stinks. I also have Daktarin for when it spreads to face

Oh, have never thought to try Daktarin for the face. I'll give that a try too. Thanks for the tip

I (Mr) suddenly developed psoriasis on my face about 3 years ago. At the dermatology department the consultant suggested Methotrexate which I have take ever since and has cleared it up completely apart from one slight area behind on ear.

I've been battling eczema since 2004. It's mostly under control with Diprobase and Dermovate these days, but it's something I'll always have to be aware of.

I did have horrendous psoriasis on my scalp and then after a family death on my back and legs - it was very very demoralising - but thankfully met a couple of partners who didn’t bat an eyelid.

Have you had it looked at? With UV therapy and the use of Entsillar (dovobet but in a foam) it cleared it in a couple of months - like a miracle!

I've had eczema since I was 16yrs old.

Not had any major flair ups for a few yrs now. I've been very consistent with products but I've had flair ups on my neck and eyelids for the past 3 mths.

Looking and feeling rubbish about it.

OP and others, think we all struggle when it flairs up with confidence.

I’m prone to eczema flair ups and it makes me extremely self conscious within the swinging world anyway! Mine looks like ring worm, so literally red circles about the size of a penny each! Why oh why does it have to be on my bikini line ! I have to avoid any kind of Irish dairy item, as that would leave me covered within a few days!

Had no issues whatsoever, have regular blood tests to ensure that everything is right but otherwise nothing. I was worried that it would lower my immune system to the point that I would be constantly ill but ironically since I started taking the tablets I have only had one cold in two/three years.

I’ve been taking a injection called Imraldi ?

Once every fortnight in my thigh or stomach. Takes about 5 seconds and is almost painless if you get it right. Also use a bit of the Enstiller foam.

It went within 3weeks and currently is gone.

I have stress related psoriasis on my right calf and both hands. If really stressed it flares up in my eyebrows as well.

Keeping stress levels low and regular UV treatment has helped and it’s fairly under control. Winter is worst time.

I have an emollient shower gel that helps a lot.

Mine is hardly life changing like some other people’s. But it can be annoying.

I (Mrs) also suffer with Guttate psoriasis and have done from a very young age and since the beginning of lock down I was also diagnosed with dermatitis on my hands. I haven’t had clears skin on any part of my body in many years and struggle everyday with it. I found Dermovate helps with my hands but nothing else seems to help the rest so have come to terms with it.

I know that for whatever reason they may be, people tend to find it a put off when I’m at clubs and regularly point out how sore or bad it looks and I do feel pretty shit after that but for me now it is what it is and if people don’t like it then I just ask that they aren’t rude about it and move along.

I hope you find something that helps clear your skin in the long term. X

"My daughter has severe eczema. She had shown some improvement with a biologic she has to self inject once a fortnight. "

Oh bless her, I hope it starts to stabilise soon for her! When my eldest was younger, she used to have to bath six times a day in this special ointment, and get wrapped up like a mummy every night for bed! Thankfully now it has calmed down a lot, and only flares up when she travels, certain food types and stress!

"My daughter has severe eczema. She had shown some improvement with a biologic she has to self inject once a fortnight. "

I feel for her. I have had eczema since childhood. It's currently under control, but I have had several flare ups over the years. I had been on steroid based ointments for years which have had some rather unpleasant side effects, the main one being I now have glaucoma. So I now avoid steroids at all costs. The dermatologist at the local hospital put me on Protopic, an ointment based on Tacrolimus which is an immunosuppressant. That might help your daughter rather than a lifetime on steroids.

That’s what I take for mine and it’s the most horrible drug ever. Even though I only take it weekly I dread it makes me feel sick as anything. But it works. Also Enstila foam is really good. I use that on my tattoos when they’re fresh and boiling hot hours after, the foam spray is freezing and super moisturising. Psoriasis is a cunt!

Been battling with my psoriasis since I was 11. It’s very deflating at times. And also time consuming, I opted out of the medication for health reasons I’d rather not take them. So it’s lots of greasy steroid cream and light treatment for me. As someone else mentioned Entsilar foam is really good and eases it. Recently I’ve also been using lush’s dream cream and I’ve found it to be a good moisturiser that’s not greasy. X

A few people have said it makes them sick, I guess I have just been lucky as no reaction at all. Follow up the once a week taking of the Methotrexate with folic acid the next day.

I’ve been struggling with psoriasis since my early 20’s. Nothing seems to really keep it at bay, tries puva which helped for a little bit. I find it really embarrassing, don’t swim any more and last time I visited a club just couldn’t handle the boxes only rule, and very nervous to meet anyone due to it. Nice to see fellow swingers in the same boat. #psoriasissupport

No it’s not fungal. I’ve had it tested at the hospital and they found nothing. I was there on Friday( regular appointments with the dermatology department for the last 3 years) and I’ve tried everything that they have thrown at me. The doctor is going to use me as her case study in the December seminar to see if any of the other departments can help out. They have started the process of seeing whether I’m fit enough for them to suppress my immune system.

I had it only on my elbows, but it looked identical to yours. I was prescribed a the usual, but tried some one else's timodene and it worked for me, despite my Gp insisting it wouldn't work. I now have another condition and take immune suppression, which consequently stops my psoriasis too.

She was on methotrexate which worked but the side effects weren't fun. The biologic ( du pixant) works just as well but with far fewer side effects. It just took ages for the NHS to agree to it.

Omg yes I was told it was pustular psoriasis and then a fungal infection and all sorts. Was given steroids, anti fungal you name it. But so far steroid when I feel a flare and antihistamine have been my friend. I found a trigger for me. It’s a chemical in shampoos and beauty products it’s a really long name methyl something or other lol. I changed my shampoo and that helped. I asked to see a dermatologist but my GP was an arse about it. I’ve been using a cream called tacrolimus which is anti rejection usually for transplant patients but it worked fairly well. The things we have to endure. Horrible isn’t it. I fully empathise. Xx
