Fiat 126 was my first car but I never got to drive it. I bought it before my 17th from a friend who was getting rid of it.
I loved that thing , polished it and cleaned it all up , would sit in the driveway and start it up and practise gear changes but by the time I turned 17, my older brother got rid of his newer Fiat Uno and that became mine instead through the power of sibling “hand me down” |

"Had lessons and passed my test in an 850cc Mini. A few weeks later my first car was a Rover P6 2000cc twin carb. I was used to ramming my foot down on the accelerator to make the Mini go, so the Rover went like the proverbial poop off a shovel!
I passed my test in my own mini. Went to put the handbrake on after reversing around the corner only to find it was already on!! Examiner didn't notice thankfully, passed first time "
Passed my test in a Volvo ...swear they are like driving tanks??! ...thought it was invincible as never felt anything you bumped in to |
