Looking at my children when they were born...you spend the whole of the pregnancy wondering what they will look like...no other feeling like it

The second best was looking into Mr BBs eyes when he told me 'I love you' for the first time

First time i saw my son.

Second was when i saw my goddaughter being born, as i saw the whole experience and her head slowly appear. Obviously didnt see that with my own son.

But what could be more beautiful than seeing your baby for the first time

That is so cool. I had a small bird land on me once, whilst I was lying in the garden sunbathing. He sat there looking at me for a few minutes before flying off.

Another thing that bought a tear to my eye was years ago when I was in Borneo. I had gone to an Orang Utang sanctuary. there were lots of injured animals in there from forest fires and deforestation. An injured Orang was huddled in the corner of one of the rehabilitation cages and no one took any notice of her. I sat next to the cage for a little while looking at her. She was so beautiful and had the most soulful eyes. After a little while she seemed to untense and opened her arms and she showed me her baby she had hidden. It really was one of the most memorable things in my life

Ben, that is a lovely story about Urangutan.

Now if you can remember exactly how you felt in that moment, multiply it by a million or so and thats how I felt when I first say my first daughter, who's now 26. She was the youngest thing I had ever seen, only matched since by her sister. When she was born she was long, skinny with perfectly smooth soft skin that looked like it had been desigend just for her, she was truely beautiful. 6 hours later at visiting it looked like she'd shrunk as her skin was so baggy round her and her birth beauty had been lost, although once she fed she soon gained that all back again.

I can honestly say I'll never ever see anything quite as beautiful as my first born, because everything was so new, but my 2nd born comes a very close 2nd...

Seen the sun rise over the valley of the kings from a hot air ballon, swimming with dolphins in sea, sharks in cooks straight. The one out standing thing was a kiss, smile and I love you from my daughter on the morning of my accident, it the small things that matter in life. Take solace in what matter and embrace life with both arms

I have seen equally beautiful things.

But it was a courageous thing that melted my heart.

Before my 16 year old son swore allegiance to the crown the major asked "do you know you might have to give up your life?"

My son said emphatically and knowingly "yes"

Weird as it might sound, but that was beautiful.

My family have given me many moments like that from birth until now.

I took some photos of Siren naked when she was pregnant with our youngest and some of them are truly beautiful shots of a woman in one of her most natural states.

On a non-personal level, I once sailed back to the UK from France to Dover and seeing the White Cliffs come into view fair took my breath away and I got a spine-tingling feeling that raised the hairs on my arms as I saw my beloved England for the first time in a few weeks.

I've been there and seen the view - it is spectacular - but I have to say the most beautiful sight I've seen is similar to a lot of posts in that it was seeing my son for the first time after a 4 day, difficult labour - he was worth every agonising moment - over 18 years ago and I still remember the look of unconditional love in his eyes when he looked at me - priceless

My newborn children and counting little fingers and toes, being there when my grandson was born, as another said previously, I saw my first baby turn into a strong powerful woman.

And just being close to the sea at work and at home.

Nature in all her power, beauty and awe is like being in Gods own cathedral.
