There are several ways to do it, but when I want to do it. I like to keep it simple, all I do is lowering the calories by just a bit and increase the cardio. I like the majority of the deficit to come from the cardio as one can still enjoy the food |

Increase in water intake while I slowly reduce calorie consumption. I don't believe in cutting any foods out abruptly, the decrease has to be slow and incremental. Eating small portions little and often helps

I’ve done various ways in my life, when I’ve had significant amounts to lose.
Careful watching what I eat
Then that plus Hiit training
Then intermittent fasting, plus power walking, and strength exercises to build muscle.
The last method is the most effective |

Lean proteins
Low sugar intake

Plenty of sleep
Gain a little more muscle mass, helps burn more calories whilst recovering and stationary. |

It's very important to plan your meals. Know what you'll be eating and when you'll be eating. Hit the gym at least 3 times a week. You don't have to kill yourself on the treadmill or crosstrainer. Keep your heart rate around 135bpm for at least 20 min minimum. |

I start by just tracking my calories and weight and recording it in NSuns TDEE spreadsheet.
I do that for 2 weeks with no restrictions in food. I just eat what I want, but I get in the habit of recording it
Then after 2 weeks I start a very slight calorie deficit. 200 calories. |

"Start with the mind. "
Agreed, you have to change your mindset and your approach to food. This is why it is not healthy to deprive yourself or cut out certain food types completely you will crave it which reinforces the negative attitudes |

I've heard that if you cut the calories way down at first then your body stores the fat and such because it thinks there's no more. So you don't end up losing the weight.
I think for me it was finding something I enjoyed and got a buzz out of. If it's a chore it's harder to keep up after the initial enthusiasm. I actually enjoy more healthy meals and enjoyed making them. I then kinda thought why am I treating myself to a kebab when it makes me feel like shit?
So i guess I agree with the 'mind' posts |

Reduce salt along with this too though, as your body retains water the more salt you have apparently |
