Just been watching Simon and Garfunkel’s concert in Central Park. Bridge Over Troubled Water even 40+ years after first hearing it still makes me tremble every time.

Anyone have songs that do the same for you?

Its probably me by Sting and Eric Clapton. It is not a loud or profound song but brings a heartwarming memory. Always. 20 plus years later.

From Lethal Weapon, good choice if you get chance listen to Gregory Porters version, on YouTube.

Mine is Curse of the Traveller by Chris Rea, Op. it’s my funeral song and the first time I heard it, I knew it would follow me around for life.

Athlete, wires.

My baby daughter was in hospital at Christmas when I first heard this song and it was so apt it was untrue. I was running down corridors, through automatic doors to desperately get to her, just as the song says.

Still sends that shiver down my spine now.

There’s several for me, but I think the most beautiful is Song To The Siren by This Mortal Coil

Oh I do know Mr Porter! And loved watching Sting face watching him perform it

I'll check out your suggestion too.

Dark End of the Street. Many versions but the Aretha Franklin one is extraordinary.

Also Cat Stevens, Father and Son for personal reasons.

Glad you’ve seen it, I didn’t think anyone would top Sting but Mr Porter certainly brings something new to the song. He also is the only guy in the World who could wear that hat and look so good in it

Moby 'Inside'

listened to it once floating on my back in a swimming pool in France, middle of nowhere, dead of night with the clearest of skies. Looking up at the stars with this tune was the most ethereal experience I've ever had

Sounds like an opening scene of a good movie.

Lush!
