Not just any old biscuits, new biscuits, this Friday. By new biscuits, I mean biscuits you haven't tried before. Leo Blooms and myself are going to be eating Oreos for the first time.
I'd really like it if you joined in on the new biscuits special.
I'm guessing for most people new biscuits will probably be individually wrapped biscuits. I've been shopping, not only have I got Oreos. I also have some honeycomb KitKats. I've been to Home Bargains, other shops are available. Next to the Penguins were Polar Pals , if you haven't had Polar Pals, that counts as a new biscuit. They also had Bournville chocolate fingers. If you've never had dark chocolate fingers, treat yourself this Friday.
Like I said before, I'd really like it if you joined in on the new biscuits special. Get shopping. |

"The word biscuit comes from the French for twice cooked.
Ill take two in that case
" I watched a programme on tv about how things are made and it was in the wagon wheel factory. The MD said wagon wheels are the same size as they’ve always been and not smaller??! Not sure about that |

"Jim I work for a biscuit factory which ones do you want buddy"
That's very good of you to offer. You don't have to send me any biscuits. But do join in on Friday. If there's a biscuit you haven't tried. |

I think she was looking for her biscuit tin at Carrow Road that time. |

I hope Tea Monkey joins in on Friday so I can say, That's Rich, Tea. |

The Garibaldi biscuit is named after the General and revolutionary who helped create modern, unified Italy. He visited South Shields in the 1850's and the biscuit went into production in South London a few years later. |

A bit off topic but for some reason this post reminds me of the master criminal gangsters that stole a lorry load full of £20 thousand pounds worth of jammy dodgers. They were planning on selling them door to door and got caught and were sentenced to 11yrs in prison.
So if your getting biscuits for Friday make sure you pay for them OK |

Ship’s biscuits were not meant to be eaten dry but first soaked and then used as a base for a stew called lobscouse, which was a standard meal for sailors. In Liverpool, “scouse” became such a common meal among the dock workers that they were called scousers. |

And Scouse (without the ship's biscuits) is still a popular dish in the Liverpool area! |

Named after the town where they were first baked, Shrewsbury Biscuits can trace their origins back to the 1500s.
A simple basic recipe of sugar, flour, egg, butter and lemon zest, they can be served as small individual biscuits or large enough to be a main dessert dish.
They have featured in plays and writing, including in several early cookbooks most notably The Compleat Cook of 1658.
On Castle Street in Shrewsbury town centre, there is a plaque referring to Mr Palin’s Shrewsbury Biscuits and his 1760 unique recipe.
Shrewsbury Biscuits are one of the most popular biscuits in India, where they are produced in the city of Pune, Maharashtra. |

"The word biscuit comes from the Latin words ‘Bis” meaning twice, and ‘coctus’ which means baked - as all biscuits used to be cooked twice." American biscuits are more like what we would call scones (sweet or savoury). They get everything mixed up like crisps (chips), candy (chocolate) etc

Digestive biscuits were invented to cure an ‘epidemic’ of flatulence. If 19th-century newspapers are to be believed, Victorian gentlemen were martyrs to an epidemic of flatulence. McVitie’s is credited with having invented the digestive biscuit as a remedy for their disordered stomachs. In fact the idea that biscuits would cure “windy colic” was nothing new. In the 15th century, caraway biscuits were eaten to comfort the stomach. In 1892, McVitie’s added baking powder – thought to guard against indigestion – to sweetmeal biscuits. |
