Rough towel or soft towel?

Random question... Do you prefer a soft towel or a rough towel?

I like a rough towel in my morning shower to wake me up but a warmed soft one for my evening bath to get all snuggly x

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I like a slightly rough towel. The really soft fluffy ones just drag the water around.

Soft.

I'm a towel sitter. I lose hours on my days off just sitting in a towel whilst my mind wanders off.

Soft towels, provided that it actually absorbs the water. New towels often require lots of washing first.

Why in earth would you want a towel that moves the water around you, give me a rough towel that removes a layer of skin as it dries.

Kinda neither . I don't like them stiff and cardboardy but if they're too soft and fluffy they don't dry very well. I like them when they feel squeeky clean after washing so they're normally not the softest they could be but I wouldn't say rough. I was my towels at 60 with dettol laundry cleanser. So fresh and clean!

It's got to be a rough towel for me, I don't feel like a soft one dries me as the water just slides off it.

Soft in the morning after a shower, rough at night after a long bath.

Don't mind what I dry myself with.

I've never given it any thought until now.

I just reach for whatever drying fibre object happens to be in the bathroom and use it. Some get me drier quicker than others, and some do not. To be honest, it could be a llama for all I care, so long as it gets the job done. (And isn't traumatizing for the beast, of course).

I'm now wondering if Mrs DS actually has snuck a llama in to the bathroom before (although they are not native to Essex, so it's probably quite unlikely).

Probably not, as it wouldn't fit in the washing machine to clean it afterwards either (which is cruel, and we wouldn't do that anyway of course !)

Burnleyish (She/They)

Technically soft.

I have a huge microfiber towel from decathlon. Meant for swimming I think...

But it's not catchy/velcro'y like most microfiber towels. This is smooth like it's a sheet. Dries you super quick and doesn't trigger any of my sensory issues that I have with wet cotton towels.

I'm allergic to fabric softner so rough all the way & a much better dry & built in exfoliate lol. But still better off the heated towel rail especially as cold nights draw in.

I prefer a rough towel. As someone else observed above, soft ones can seem to just push the water around.

That said, there's definitely such a thing as *too* rough. Some hotel towels are like sandpaper.

Definitely a tough towel, preferably the most uncomfortable starchy one I can find! If it was all soft and comfy, I’d end up in it for hours and get nothing done haha Miss Pc
