Medium rare usually. That's the common answer it seems.
It depends on the restaurant though. There's a place in Rome where medium rare means very rare but it's gorgeous and melt in the mouth.
At a pub near me medium rare seems to mean well done. So does rare and medium! |

Won't order a steak when I'm out. I just don't enjoy paying premium prices for something that I know I can cook better. Health restrictions prevent restaurants from pre warming the steaks prior to cooking for instance. And the only restaurants that generally serve steak Tartare are out of my budget.
I tend to order dishes that I can't make as easily or nicely myself, or as is most often the case things that I just can't be arsed to cook myself. |
