This will come as a shock to anyone who knows me even a little, but I ran out of milk again. Luckily I planned for this last time in shopped and bought some UHT stuff for emergency (lazy) moments.
Apparently I'm weird for actually quite liking it though. Anyone else join me in my weirdness? Do you like the stuff? Not like it? Couldn't give a monkey's as long as you have milky goodness for your beverage? |

I only use milk in my coffee, so I can't tell any difference!
I do always have a couple of cartons of UHT in though, and a couple of tins of evap if things get desperate. I don't risk being coffeeless. |

We always have a pint of ordinary milk in the freezer for emergencies, it does freeze, the trick though is to remember to defrost it BEFORE you actually run out lol. |

I mostly always buy UHT milk when I am in France but their milk tastes nicer than U.K. milk anyway. I only really use it for hot milk 50/50 in my breakfast coffee so doesn’t make a lot of difference.
My cat Mitzi however is a real connoisseur and won’t touch UHT. |

If I ran out of milk then I'd chuck whatever milk/substitute I had left.
I must admit, I have put breast milk in once or twice (only my own of course).
We have a milkman now though so we get regular deliveries |

I don’t drink actual milk (haven’t done so for like 4 years) but I don’t think UHT is that bad at all!
The joys of storing soy/oat milk as it’s kinda similar when it comes to how long u can keep it there. Ahh x |

I like UHT milk and a couple of cartons in the fridge as back. I know it doesn’t need to be refrigerated before opening, it just easier to check the milk situation in one glance.
The taste takes me back to camping holidays when I was younger. We would buy a packs of it, since we were far from shops.
It also goes very well with Crusha, especially lime. (This is the point at which Vixen disowns me )

I’ve changed over to almond milk as an alternative and I can’t say I’ve noticed much difference in taste.
Tastes great in porridge and granola.
Did taste fine in coffee, although it looks strange…but I’ve drank coffee black for the last week or so…

Do tend to try and keep a spare, until it gets used and then forgotten to replace
But do enjoy it... recently took a carton of it away with me, along with coffee and sugar, just to ensure I could have coffee when I got there and knowing it'd last better when opened etc but anyway... best bit being was drinking it straight from the carton before moving on |

Actually there is a Fab way to use evaporated in coffee. Put a heaped teaspoon of good quality instant coffee in mug, add about 1/4 cup of evaporated and mix together until the coffee and milk are totally blended together. Top up with boiling water. Really good when you run out of ground coffee. An Israeli boyfriend many years ago showed me how to make this. |

My little rescue terrier is ridiculously fussy about food. She won’t eat the same thing two days running, has never eaten dog biscuits since I got her and if I try to tempt her to eat freshly cooked chicken she turns her head to the side with the most stubborn expression. But she does like milk sometimes and adores yogurt of any flavour. |

I'm training myself to drink black coffee so I can drink in the morning as part of my 8:16 fasting.
Otherwise I buy whatever non-dairy is on offer in the supermarket. Using pea milk at the moment, which is surprisingly nice on weetabix. |
