Anyone else got this cold going around?

Not covid as I've been tested, but I've not had one this bad for as long as I can remember. My head feels the size of a pea, my waste paper bin looks like a 14 year old's after they've just discovered pornhub and my stomach is kicking up a proper fuss. I usually get over them in 24 hours but I've had this nearly 4 days now.

That sounds awful and this time of year is horrible, there are lots of bugs going around at the moment due to change of season.

Hope you get better soon.

I had my flu jab today so feeling pretty rough

Yep! Had it for a week now. Started with a sore throat, progressed to a stuffy nose, and now have a cough, all with a lovely headache to top off the shit trifle

I've heard about it. I've got sinusitis - I hope it's not a prelude to it

Mr KC is the same. I've managed to avoid the worst of it but my right ear is absolute agony. The rest of me is fine though

I caught something in August, strongest cold I ever had, worst of it only lasted 2 days. Usually only get one cold a year so hopefully I'll be OK.

I haven't but I'm still wearing a mask in public spaces to avoid the cold and flu. Covid has made me look less like an oddball for doing it now.

I hope you've all been testing for Covid. I had this cold the other week, and I tested positive. The sinus trouble is a big symptom of the Delta variant. I felt like someone had done my nose with a bottle brush, and that was after both jabs.

We test twice or three times a week and always negative. But we have had some sort of other disease. We wear masks in shops/on public transport/at work etc too.

My apologies, I use Respirators. Mine are FFP2/N95 disposable ones.

The cloth ones or normal surgical maks only work if everyone else is wearing it because it helps prevent one who is infected from spreading it to others.

Disposable respirators of FFP2/N95 or FFP3/N99 protects the wearer from infection.

Painful sinus, headache, earache. It's quite isolated pain but it's still exhausting

Not at the moment - but definitely one to watch for because of the ear connection. I'm just taking it easy

Having been jabbed, I'm more afraid of the 'usual' cold and flu than Covid now.

Had it a couple of weeks back, it absolutely floored me. Same kind of deal, had all the signs of Covid but multiple tests (LFT and PCR) came vack negative.

I've ended up with antibiotics for a really bad ear infection. It started as part of this "cold" that's doing the rounds. Thanks, world!

No I haven’t. Testing for what? I’ve just been going about my business and coughing on strangers like normal.

When you first posted about the earache, I thought you meant Mr KC moaning about the flu

Hope it gets better soon though

Hehe, no, he's just plodding along with his version of this lurgy. He's been better over the weekend. My ear hasn't been this sore since I was a child (I used to get ear infections all the time). The doc described it as "very angry" (my ear, that is!)

Thank you for your kind wishes.

This is one reason why we still need to wear face masks!

The flu and cold season this year will be magnified by the fact it was obliterated last last year…

Its an interesting irony tbat we have been locked down on an off to protect us from covid - but has vulnerable to the very basic illnesses fo which we are so accustomed to and don’t think twice about. Maybe its a wake up call not too take soo many things for granted
