What’s wrong?
I was taken ill 5 weeks ago seemingly with IBS, but no matter how I told my GP I didn’t think it was IBS, as the symptoms weren’t what I normally have, she just kept telling me to take what she’d given me…. The meds actually made me worse. Into the second week she decided to do blood tests, not expecting anything to come of it, they showed I’d had a virus that had attacked my liver & my gut, hence why I felt so ill. Thankfully I’m ok now, but I was ill for three weeks. 2 weeks ago I woke up feeling back to normal! Recent blood test shows my liver is almost back to normal. Had the virus attacked my spleen I could have ended up in hospital, I dread to think what might have happened since she decided not to listen to me. Think I know my body better than she thinks she does!

Wow! That sounds awful. I always get a second opinion now. Suffered too many GP mistakes. My friends daughter went to GP THREE times with leaking nipples. Was told it was her age and she had young children. 2 months later she died of breast cancer age 26. My Nan went docs with bad stomach ache. Was told it was a bug. 2 days later she collapsed and died with a burst bowel and sceptasemia. |

It’s pretty shit innit. Apparently there’s a bug going around called the super cold lol. Over half my daughters class have been sent home with it this week.
I'm in bed with it at the minute, I feel shocking atm

What’s wrong?
I was taken ill 5 weeks ago seemingly with IBS, but no matter how I told my GP I didn’t think it was IBS, as the symptoms weren’t what I normally have, she just kept telling me to take what she’d given me…. The meds actually made me worse. Into the second week she decided to do blood tests, not expecting anything to come of it, they showed I’d had a virus that had attacked my liver & my gut, hence why I felt so ill. Thankfully I’m ok now, but I was ill for three weeks. 2 weeks ago I woke up feeling back to normal! Recent blood test shows my liver is almost back to normal. Had the virus attacked my spleen I could have ended up in hospital, I dread to think what might have happened since she decided not to listen to me. Think I know my body better than she thinks she does!

Wow! That sounds awful. I always get a second opinion now. Suffered too many GP mistakes. My friends daughter went to GP THREE times with leaking nipples. Was told it was her age and she had young children. 2 months later she died of breast cancer age 26. My Nan went docs with bad stomach ache. Was told it was a bug. 2 days later she collapsed and died with a burst bowel and sceptasemia. "
OMG, that’s awful the GP I had was actually a GP in training, no point in trying to get an appointment with my own GP who is partner in the practise as I refuse to wait 3 weeks for a phone consultation it’s a flipping nightmare trying to get an appointment, before the bloods I’d had 4 appointments with her - 3 on the phone and one 1-1… |
