What a fantastic development, over 30 years in the making!

But, do you think this will create a population explosion in the affected countries? Africa already has huge problems with feeding itself.

Although the vaccine is a godsend to the children, I foresee big problems for the future.

Just a personal view.

I think more reflection on our huge resource consumption in the global north is probably more worthwhile than begrudging children in Africa the ability to grow up healthy.

This breakthrough will save so may lives now and in the future. Having worked in Africa and worked with the people it’s fantastic news.

People have larger families in societies where they aren't confident of all their children surviving. Hopefully this can change, just as it did in this country.

We should control population by controlling birth rate. Not by expecting people to die early by diseases.

Yes

I've worked with a lot of orphanages in east and southern Africa. At one point life expectancy where we worked was 37.
