I think the Beatles sound was always evolving so they reached more people. The Stones were rock and roll with a Blues twist. Gimme shelter and Paint it black are two of My all time favourite songs. I have lots of fond memories of the Beatles music growing up and love lots of their stuff but they lack the raw grit of the Stones. |
