Chicken rogan josh.
Lamb biriani.
An 'Indian' takeaway near me used to do spinach and chick pea pilau rice, which was absolutely gorgeous. It was run by a family from the Philippines, and they put their own interpretation of some usual Indian takeaway dishes. |

My favourite Indian dish is the shakahari thali (basically a giant platter full of tasty vegetarian stuff)
My favourite dishy Indian was a lovely lady called Arwa... 10 years on I still miss her
Fun fact, Arwa means satisfied, pleasant and fresh (or a female mountain goat) |

Lived in India for 30 years. Came here and found restaurants serving something named Vindaloo as Indian dish. On doing some research, I found that it's Goan adaptation of a Portuguese dish, which makes sense.
As a south Indian, one thing I miss here is the lack of proper Chettinad/Malabar restaurant in London. There are a few decent ones but nothing to write great about. |

Love thali, our local Pakistani centre does it for £3 every lunch time Monday to Friday. Other than that I’ve hardly seen thali in the U.K. |

"Lol I guess the Indian curry will get more response then the men lol
Joke
What’s your favourite Indian dish"
I love a good curry and try to have as much variety as possible. Some of my favourites though include Madras, Vindaloo, South Indian Garlic Chicken, Kolapuri, and Devdas.
I also LOVE a Peshwari Nann

I like to try something different each time and the house special.
To be honest I don’t really notice much difference between the dishes other than heat.
I actually find the poppadom with the condiments that come with it the tastiest.
I do love going to an Indian restaurant though the food though samey is definitely tasty. |

"Jalfrezi or ceylon. Veggie curry or Bombay aloo on the side. Nan bread to mop up. No rice, too much for my litte, ish, belly "
We're out in a bit to have Ceylon, Balti, Chilli nan and more. Don't forget the big crisps and dips |

Lol. A lot of the dish names are made up for foreign consumers.
Most Indian restaurants past and present are actually Bangladeshi.
But great food is great food…. |
