In the aftermath of Wednesday's revelations a group of people thought it would be a good idea for one week only to get Gerry Marsdens You'll Never Walk Alone to Number 1.

From nowhere, it's now at Number 2 on the Itunes list and costs 99p each.

If you'd like to give it a push to get it to number 1, please buy it today, and if you can persuade any of your friends to buy, then please do.

Gerry Marsden is reported to have said that any profits he makes out of this sale is going to the Hillsborough Justice Campaign.

I don't know if thats true, but I do know it would be great to hear this at Number 1 tomorrow night.

Mark

"I have this on my phone of the fans singing it at last years cup final we absolutely drowned out the Chelsea fans"

Ryan your a good guy and your forum posts often make me laugh.

It maybe true that we drowned out Chelsea at Wembley, I know it was pretty loud in the part of the stadium I was in but:

I'd be even happier if Chelsea fans on this site bought this record this week for the reasons I stated at the beginning.

On this occasion to me anyway, this is bigger than team rivalries. I've been at most of the major games involving Chelsea over the last 10 years in some amazing atmospheres, and while I'm more than happy to give Chelsea fans banter, if the roles were reversed I could be persuaded to buy "blue is the Colour"....

A few years ago Rhys Jones a young Everton fan was shot dead in Liverpool, and it made national news, some of you may even recall the event.

Liverpool played at home a few days later and Rhys's parent and brother came to Anfield before the start of the game wearing their EFC shirts while the loudspeakers played EFC's theme of Z Cars, for the first and only time at Anfield as a mark of respect to the youngster.

Buying YNWA today, whichever team you support in my view would be in a similar vein to that gesture at Anfield that day.

I (Mr) don’t do itunes and already have several versions of YNWA but Mrs has so I will get her to purchase it. I will also put a post on my facebook. Great idea.

I want to tell you about my story about Hillsborough and waht i experienced today. I lost 2 friends on that dreadful day I was invited by my brother in law to go in his box at old trafford, bearing in mind when i got back fom Hillsborough on that daY my sister was out in the street screaming that i was home. On the 16-4-89 i was god parent to my sisters son. Over the years i've tried to educate my friends and family about that day. I took my brother in laws invite to go in to his box at old trafford today. I wore a suit and was dressed very smart, i can hold my own in a conversation after being in the navy for 20 years. I had a Justice badge on my lapel and was abused by people i never thought i could b abused by. I was called a bin dipper, scouse scum, murderer and that the HIP was a big cover up. I looked at my brother in law for some advice and he just said ' you made your own bed lie in it', i txt my sister and she laughed and said get over it cos it was 23 years ago. From this day on, i have 2 nephews, both evertonions, who will wear a justice badge on there coats at the Everton game on Monday, i've never mentioned Hillsborough to them but they know about it. Liverpool and Everton may hate each other but we will never walk alone. Justice for the 96

Unfortunately there are people who support Man U and people who support LFC who take some sort of sick pleasure in taunting each other about the Munich Disaster and about Hillsborough too.

On an LFC fans website that I belong too there has been much discussion how to mark The HIP report at Anfield next Sunday when we play Man Utd.

There has been reports in todays press that some Utd "Fans" were singing there Hillsborough songs which has been commented on by MUFC in a press statement.

Unfortunately, my friend, I think that some people are so bigotted that they simply can't see how offensive their comments to you were and are.

I am a match going LFC fan, with a Kop season ticket. I've been to many away matches over the years, including Old Trafford and have faced various levels of Hillsborough related abuse from 1000's of United people ranging from the imbicile holding up The S*n paper to hundreds pressing thier hands against their faces to imitate railings, to the whole stadium chanting "Murderers". To balance things, I've seen plenty of LFC fans giving it back with chants of "Munich", though the song about the runway was dropped straight after Hillsborough happened. I've seen plenty of LFC fans arms outstretched imitating a plane.

As you can see both sides have given it plenty over the years, both sides blame the other for starting it and both sides could end it if they wish.

LFC fans have certainly toned things down over the years, but there's still a way to go.

I'd hope that one of the good things that happened last Wednesday is that this vitriol between Utd & LFC starts to cease. Ferguson made a good start this week, and thats one of the very few times I've had something good to say about him, it was also good to finally see the press reporting that United fans were chanting this abuse about Hillsborough, but it's up to us match going fans to "Police" our own support and stop the chants by both sides.

to pull this thread back on track though, please remember to buy YNWA off Itunes today to get it to Number 1 in the charts.

As a life long Man U fan and season ticket holder upto last season and having being at Old Trafford for many games vs Liverpool, having being at OT on saturday i did feel upset about the chanting hopefully with the two chief excutives of both clubs calling for calm, i think there should be and end to the hurtful chants and let the players do the talking on the pitch. i dont want the rivalry to be taking away as this adds to thd atmosphere at the games and with the history of both clubs can be a great afternoon at the football.

I hope that justice can finally prevale and the questions that people have can be answered. #JFT96
