Just we (in Southampton) have a West End in the east and another West End locally. You get your north ends, east gates etc etc. Just interested in geography!

North West

"A named north, east, west or even south end?"

Nope. But the whole town is IN the North West.

wolverhampton

Birmingham has a few Quarters, an Eastside, and couple of Ends - including a Lickey End. Down the road in Rowley there’s a road called Bell End too.

We have a North..., a South... and a West.... But no East... as there was already a town of that name down to the coast in Sussex.

Maldon

I moved to a village and lived in North End. Village also had a South End. For the first few years, when people referred to South End, I thought they meant ‘Southend’ the seaside town about 50 miles away.

We have 'uppies' and 'downies' but it comes from a ball game the town plays. Men around here seem to get very strung up on it.

We have a Northgate and Eastgate side, depending on which side of the clock you are. Also an outer and inner wall, river side etc! I just use pub names to to describe the areas tho

Brighton

We have a West Street, an East Street, a North Street and even a North road, but no ends! No south either unless you count the beach.

We also have the North Laine area, which is never, ever called the North Lanes.
