I went on a trip to Paris the year I arrived in England. The baguette served for breakfast each morning at our tiny hotel was like nothing I'd ever had in Australia. (Or England, to be fair  ) |

Two decades ago..I was leaving the bar I used to work at with my friends. Middle of the night and one of them says..hey my auntie works in a local bakery, let's go and see if some bread is ready.. she will let us in. And so it was. We were sneaked in, got a fresh warm loaf and walked home together, the bunch of us.. breaking it and smiling. Won't ever forget that taste.  |

I used to work in a craft bakery, back in the day. It was an evening shift, so around 4am we used to make breakfast. Bacon and cheese (or whatever filling you enjoyed) on a fresh loaf of bread, often using the crust as that was particularly tasty. |
