Hey all! Just a topic to talk about, what're your personal thoughts on winking others or being winked?
For me; I tend to enjoy giving/receiving a wink, I feel it's a sign of an interest, so if someone winks me, I feel that they may be interested to talk more, which is when I can respond through message or otherwise.
I give winks to show my interests, bus mainly for me to send, it means I'm s little shy sending a message as I don't feel confident you'll reply, so I guess it's let's painful to be ignored by a wink, than a message?
What are your thoughts? Happy to hear'em
And as always: enjoy fabbing! |

Never check my winks and very rarely give them out. Think I've done it once on a forum thread!
I'd much prefer whoever is interested to message as I'm always happy to talk but will tell them our stance to start with (not interest or not looking). |

Winks are good - giving and receiving. See a few status that say don't wink you'll be blocked - sad really because some people are very shy, winking may actually be a big thing for them to do. I see no harm in winks at all |

I'll reply to a wink. But if the cant hold a conversation I'll stop replying. Let's be honest if your too shy to a have a conversation on a site where your anonymous, what are you going to be like in a meet.
I'll wink a profile I like but only if there is no information about them or the type of person they are looking for to compose a non generic message. |

Not fully shy in that sense, but more or less just don't like the feeling of being ignored, so I always prefer people coming to me/messaging me, but that hardly happens haha |

Not surprised it hardly happens, there are probably hundred of guys to each woman on here. Many guys complain they don't get a reply to messages.
Woman and couples get hundreds of message, you really think they are going to message first or reply to a wink.
Not saying it won't happen, but your strategy is seriously flawed for the reasons I've mentioned. |

It is a feature on the site, I consider it another form of communication, especially if I am interested in the person, their pics, or the overall profile. If someone winks back, I can then send a short message. Not sure why people associate winking with laziness. Laziness is doing nothing or ignoring winks.... |

I never really send a wink and can’t remember the last time I did outside of forum games. I do notice that I have winks waiting for me sometimes but it’s not something I look at regularly |

I always thought they would be preferable to getting hundreds of messages.
Most people check a profile out before replying to messages anyway, so this just shortcuts the need for an initial message being written or read when there is no interest.
If any interest exists, a simple wink back can than start of the messaging. |

I don't really look at them anymore. But in saying that I've met some amazing people where first contact was a wink so I really don't mind them I've just gotten out of the habit of checking them . |

I wink women with very little info or no pics on their profile.
then they can look at my profile and decide if i am someone they like the sound of.
if i see a profile that is filled out with info and pics then i message and wink. |

I treat winks just as you’ve described Op, just a quick “I like the look of your profile, come see mine” kinda thing.
There’s a lot of hate for winks in general it seems but I’m more than happy with them |

I don't think I've ever really winked to anybody.
I never look to see who has winked at me, so for me it's quite a pointless feature but if they work for others then fine. |

Just a polite way of saying oioi as being noticed as people never know what to expect sending the first message and if they respond still boils down to whose going to message first.i do check mine and do respond in some way. |

I ignore them, it's a bit lazy imo if you are doing it to try and get the person to message you. If I am Interested I will message. If someone else is interested I think they should message. |

We see them as a possible ice breaker, the winker giving whoever they have winked at the chance to see they are interested and then reciprocate if they wish. If they don’t, then no harm done. |

I disagree with it being lazy.
It's not a replacement of a first message, but a first step to gauge interest before wasting each others time. If you get a wink back, then you send that first message.
People will check your profile before deciding to reply to a message anyway. It just brings that step slightly earlier.
I'm suprised more women don't embrace them, when I see so many complaining about the number of messages they get. Especially as people are limited to sending one wink per month (I think) per person. |

We've had meets that started with a wink. But also we receive many a wink, we wink back then nothing. Then some wink again in a couple of months! We put it in private notes to ignore future winks, we're confused to their motive |

So I like winks and will usually send a thanks for them.
I do use them but most of the time it's when a profile doesn't give much to start a conversation from or if I think I've got no chance with someone but want to at least try and get there attention |

I never look.
I used to return a wink if I received one from someone I liked but not once did it trigger a message and if I messaged them, not once did I get a reply. |

Winks are good aimed men as we get fuck all messages and it makes us feel partially loved.(until we wink/message back and we get no response)
Winks are pointless aimed at women as they have a few hundred "FAF" messages to wade through each day. I can't recall the last time I sent a wink and it was reciprocated tbh! (I still do it though ) |

I like to send winks as a way of saying I'm interested. If I get a wink back then I'll always reply with a follow up message.
I also like to receive winks.
I wink is like saying to the person your interested |

Speaking in very general terms:
Men, who get so few winks even that even *one* is a memorable occasion, think they're a really useful feature and a great low-intensity way of establishing contact.
Women, who get hundreds or thousands of winks, think they're pointless and don't check them.

I think they’re a good thing
I send them to show interest, which doesn’t mean I don’t know how to string a message together, and if the person responds I will then send a message |

Some of our best meets began with a wink.
Used correctly, they're great.
Example .........
Profile One sends a wink to draw attention to their profile.
Profile Two likes their profile and so winks back
Profile One then takes it as an invite to message and so does, sending a reasonable message expressing what they like about Profile One.
For us, much better than receiving messages that don't appeal, a wink is much easier to ignore |

"I use winks as my likes "
I thought thats what a Wink meant. Indicator you like the pics & profile etc.
Some say its lazy.
I have openly messaged as well. But not a one word, nor do you wanna Shag/ fuck opener!
Its really a numbers game. .

Seems a bit OTT
I'd never block someone for winking but I don't check them unless a thread like this prompts me, so they're rather wasted on me. |

We don’t check them and the odd time we do we just bulk delete them. We reply to every message if we feel they’ve read our profile and put a bit of effort into it though. |

I like a wink, shows they are interested in me. Miles better than, "alright babe, I really want to fuck your pussy so hard and make you wet" alongside a friend request fellas it ain't gonna work for me... |

I must admit, I do send winks but that's because I like receiving them, as a sign of interest, however I don't think I've ever had a reply from just winking, which seems like a feature not very well optimized on here because of what is means to many others in a negative light x |
