Meat lol I get all the veggies and spuds and Yorkshire’s but I’m veggie… also dunno why but the Toby now does Mac and cheese with a roast. What’s that all about?? |

Yorkshire pudding, takes up too much space for too little reward! I will usually go for the roasties rather than mash if that’s an option, and will mound my plate with the parsnips, and maybe the carrots if they have been roasted too rather than boiled |

Sometimes meat. I love the rest so much that I can do without the meat.
And it's not that I don't eat meat. I do. Love it. But a good carvery I don't need it |

Thanks, OP. A once very popular buffet style place near me has never reopened and I wondered if attitudes to the shared space would change. |

Toby Carvery is still doing them, and a load are doing it with table service, so they just pile up the stuff you want. |

Actually 'beef' gravy is usually ok. Yorkshire puddings are possible but tricky. Roast spuds is easy, just oil & garlic. But yeah I'm guessing a carvery won't be offering the plant based versions.

Yeah I'd rather eat a home roast anyway. Especially after reading about people being served meals with bugs in them at the local Toby Carvery a few years ago |

Everything is secondary to the meat (turkey, chicken, maybe beef) Yorkshire puds, roast potato's and gravy 
Definitely no cauliflower, brocoli, cauliflower cheese, mashed potato, runner beans, pork lamb, venison |

Sweet corn  it’s not a carvery veg!! Orange mash i  what’s in that then? Carrots in another form because I’m sure there’s never any swede in it
Carvery is great if it’s a really good one but most of them serve dried up offerings that have been cooked and kept warm for ages  |
