Having light grey carpets and a black dog, I have constant reminders to hoover - and wipe the skirtings down

So, every couple of days

Why are people spending so much time on the stairs, I use mine to either go from the bottom floor to the top or vice versa, I don’t stop for a picnic halfway up ?!

I'd say two or three times a month. I do downstairs daily but the stairs and carpets upstairs don't get that dirty as we take shoes off and don't eat much food etc up there.

Yes, once a week when I live somewhere with stairs (but we're in a flat currently). Why would somebody not vacuum the stairs, unless they don't vacuum at all? Don'tyyou, OP?

I vacuum my stairs once a week. I live alone though and take my shoes off to go upstairs.

I panic clean the whole house when I have a viewing too.
