I know this may not be a straight forward answer but I love Motown. I dont if I should have been born in that era but if I had thr choice that would be my pick x

I had this discussion yesterday, I feel more asymalation to the 18th century.

I love the clothes, the style, the music, the, sex, romance, the eccentricity. Yeh it had plenty of drawbacks but doesn't every era. Take a look at the shit going on today.

Well motown is classic and older music is mostly best! So i can see what you mean. But you can appreciate it that's the beauty of music!

Yes, I was born in the wrong era. I belong in a future where monogamy, religion, capitalism, Tories and disease no longer exist, and everyone is having far too much sex to bother with war and greed and sport.

I love so many things from the early to mid 20th century such as the cars and motor bikes, fashion and design and but I'm glad I live in today. I'd prefer to not have a lot of the SJW OTT political correctness we have now though.

I think I was about right to be honest.

Tub thumping my way through college with chuwmbawumda in the mid nineties and hitting my stride at uni when I did.

No I'm a man of the present....

I often think I should've been born in the 20s. The rise of art deco, my favourite design period, then being in my twenties for WW2. I would definitely have tried to have been a pilot in the RAF. I know the implications, but I can't help thinking, I would have felt more alive and useful than I ever will here and now.

No. I loved growing up through the 80's and 90's. We knew how to play outdoors, building dens, riding our bikes for hours, playing Tig music was fabulous, watching Top of the Pops every week with my sister. Getting 20 sweets in a 10p mix up. Going to the pub in our late teens and a pint was just 80p.

Ahhhh it's good to reminisce.

It's just this getting old malarkey nowadays that I'm not so keen on. Life is ticking by way too quick.

Ahhh I remember it well, everyone lived until 180yrs and time travel was invented only they didn't quite master it hence I'm stuck here today.

I’ve always fancied making a smart flanking manoeuvre with a phalanx of armoured troops, so I guess I might have fitted into the Roman era? Oh and the toga orgies after. Mmm niceous.

I think about this but the reality would likely be very different. Much of what we see in films and read was only enjoyed by a few. I may fantasise about being a Spitfire pilot, truth is enrolling during WW2 would almost certainly have seen me in some kind of infantry and getting shot. Go back another 50/100 years and I'd have been living a harsh life slaving in some factory with little or no worker rights while polite society had their scandals and intrigue and enjoyed the music of the day in their concert halls.

I tend to look back at the golden days of mountaineering when new routes, new climbs were being pioneered but in reality, while modern equipment and logistics put many of these in reach of far more people and make them seem feasible for the likes of me, at the time they were achievable only by the most elite climbers. The reality is I would have had far less freedom, spare time, money, and ability to travel 60 years ago than I do today. I may not be one of the pioneers but I still get to enjoy far more than most people who have ever lived.

We love the 1940s ... George and I appreciate the hardships and challenges of that era and the toil taken on our parents and grandparents. x Anne

No I am in the right one now

My mind utopia of what life could be like is enough as reality in 100 years could be that we are on ww5 or a planet ice age so I could be dropping myself right in the shit...

Yes, I’d prefer to have been born when there were about 100 people on the planet, more room to move and less chance of bumping into people (who are incredibly annoying).

The present era has had massive benefits for our longevity - though it's increase has fallen recently.

I'd have loved to enjoy the 1960s as an adult, albeit with some downsides of lack of equality. The style, party spirit and free loving seems good, from a distance

I do, but I don't think I belong in an era gone by. I believe I belong in a future era where I'm not tied down by the traditions of generations before me
