The Town by The Cross

1. One person/s plans to kill and does

2. A crime of passion. Not premeditated

3. Drink Driving death.

4. Punching in a pub fight

5. Careless driving

6. Messing pushing your mate by the roadside and having a laugh/into the sea off your boat and they drown ?

7. Forgetting to give your old mum her tablets

8. Not having a safety guard on your machinery. Employee dies.

9. Landlord having poor ventilation over an older boiler ( not me )

10. Your dog gets out and kills a child.

Which ones would carry the death penalty in your world ?

None, the death penalty is wrong.

It's not that simple, in criminal law the act itself is not the only factor, intent and culpability is taken into account.

A person's mental stability, the intent behind the act, did they carry a weapon, was it planned...

Out of those 10 scenarios you listed I would say none would get death penalty.

However, those scum that chased down an NHS worker in London recently and that copper who murder that women....absolutely, death to them all.

None of them.

This is a terrible thread, there’s so many factors in each of those examples.

Let’s take 3 for example, if a person has 1 pint, that could put them over the limit despite “feeling fine”, should that be subject to the death penalty? No way ho-say. Banned from driving for life & imprisonment on Manslaughter charges.

Pub fight - was the person defending themselves? Was If so, does that warrant the death penalty? Nope.

Dog attacking & killing a child, the dog would be destroyed immediately, why should the owner go with it?

Crimes of passion, what are we talking? That covers so much from aggression right up to murder? OP is implying any crime of passion to be under the death penalty. Again, wrong.

It’s not truly black & white as so many seem to think it is.

What was the events leading up to either? Mental capacity? Aggravating circumstances?

Manslaughter charges are less severe than murder chargers, but in either case the death penalty wouldn’t be applied.
