It depends what the starter and pudding menu is like really. If there is something very chocolatey on the dessert menu I might miss the starter.

Whenever I go with my mates, we always get a starter and main and when they then say "shall we make a move?" I pull a face because I'd rather skip the starter and go for dessert instead

Depends what's on the menu but I'll mostly have a starter and a main rather than a main and a dessert or just a main and that's it. I don't mind leaving a little bit of main meal but can't handle leaving almost a full dessert coz one bite in I've reached "one more mouthful and the lot is coming back up" stage

I check the menu and see what's on the dessert list.

If there's no sticky toffee pudding with unlimited custard, or something special, then I'll have a starter.

Or skip both and manage most of my main course.

I've only eaten 3 courses once in my life and I thought I was going to explode.

Tapas is my idea of heaven. But decent tapas, not the overpriced, fried plates of beige that make a restaurant a good profit. We should have tapas one day!

Totally depends on what the menu is like. If there are no puddings I like the look of, then its starter all the way. Conversely if the desserts look great, screw the starter.

And if thats not a runner, if the waitress looks great and flirty, try and screw her instead

While I do have a sweet tooth, I'd much rather a starter and main Inna restaurant. Not bothered about dessert when I'm out.

Starter, you can always opt for dessert if you are still hungry or if the date hasn’t gone to plan make sharp exit…on the other hand if the date has gone well you might be wanting afters….
