Super excited I've just bought tickets to watch the new film this weekend! My all time favourite is A View to a Kill, but love all of the Daniel Craig stuff, I feel he's modernised the role.

Anyone else into Bond? What's your favourite?

Yes, I love the bond films, and I’ve tried a few of the books too. Daniel Craig is great in the role, but most people have brought something good to it, except maybe the later Roger Moore films.

It was always " The Spy Who Loved Me" for me as it was the first Bond film I saw. The Lotus was the high point for me as a child, even had the Corgi toy too.

Craig has definitely brought the francise to a new audience and I do enjoy the more realistic feel to his Bond.

Love all the Bond films. My favourite is You Only Live Twice although some if it is hilariously dated now (like making 6ft 2 Sean Connery ‘become Japanese’ with a wig and some fake eyelids). Goldeneye is also an amazing film.

Hoping to go and see the new one on Thursday evening.

Absolutely loved the living day lights and what a killer theme tune,...I love the way Daniel Craig has brought the whole Bond idea to the modern day, previously Bond did seem a little dated compared to other big budget films, Daniel Craig and the films themselves has brought a much more gritty feel to the whole Bond franchise...

I’ve always loved Bond even as a child. Daniel Craig has brought a new dimension to the character. Bond is now a person with a backstory that’s been part of the plots. The movies have become personal, a very clever move by the script writers. It’s evolved by developing the character

Love Dalton, thought his films allowed the character to grow and eventually create the Craig 007.

My favourite Bond film is ‘The Spy who Loved Me’ I watched it in the cinema and at the end of the opening scene, Bond skis off the edge of a cliff, the whole cinema audience clapped and cheered as his parachute opened to show the Union Flag.

It was due to this scene and the audience reaction that first put the thoughts into my head about joining the Army. I was so patriotic then, not so much now but I’ll leave that for another thread

I’ll probably not watch it till it hits Sky, but I’ll be sad to see the end of Craig’s Bond. His Casino Royale is by far my favourite Bond film and Eva Green, in my opinion, was the perfect Bond girl.

The end of Judi Dench as M sort of brought on my acceptance of the end of Craig’s “term” as they were a good pairing.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens next with 007. I hope they go onwards and upwards.

Yes, and seeing as you are local, and no doubt know a few people that I know. One or two will confirm that although some people have said that I bear a striking resemblance to Bryan Ferry, others have said Johnny Cash, even Elvis Presley depending on the way that I style my hair, so if you don't fancy any of them, that's me out of the frame for starters, but the telephone voice is definitely Connery. Casino Royale with David Niven is regarded as a spoof Bond Film.

Never say Never was a legal issue that he (Producer I think) had rights to make a Bond film. He managed to get Sean Connery to come back and play the role again that lends itself some credibility.

We always loved the Bond movies but for us Daniel Craig has taken the role to another level and really changed how the character is perceived as a whole. It’s no longer fashionable to poke fun at these movies because he’s made them really credible.

What we’ve enjoyed the most is the arc all his movies have taken and they are no longer just stand alone films (with the slight exception of Skyfall). Casino Royale was a brilliant movie and set the tone for his Bond but it’s been so interesting seeing how they’ve grown it from there. Quantum Of Solace was a bit of a disappointment but Spectre was great and this it’s really set this one up for a fantastic finale.

DC is the best Bond for us but Sean Connery runs him a very close second! Favourite is Casino Royale

I though Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer's petty bickering was a wonderful, witty and slightly bitchy dialogue in Tomorrow Never Dies, was deadly serious and comedic all at the same time.

The fact that it gave more than a nod and a wink, to their previous lives in As Time Goes By, just added to the tension.

Dark humour at its best: dry, honest and filter free!

"Question for the Bond experts, which of the Bond films is not an official Bond film?

I know one of them is but can't remember which one or the reason!

The original casino royale and never say never again

Cheers, why is that though?

Casino Royale with David Niven is regarded as a spoof Bond Film.

Never say Never was a legal issue that he (Producer I think) had rights to make a Bond film. He managed to get Sean Connery to come back and play the role again that lends itself some credibility. "

this is news to me!

Huge Bond fan. I had the pleasure of meeting Sir Sean once. Lovely chap.

Bias, but I consider him to be the best. Daniel Craig a strong second. He had done an excellent job.

What nobody has mentioned, but I am sure that everyone is aware of is that the Ian Fleming's character James Bond is actually based on a real live wartime spy who was the original double agent who ran with the hare's and hunted with the hounds. He would give away our secrets to the Germans when it wasn't going to do any harm, in return that built up the trust that he was actually on their side, and got all the information neccesary to keep us ahead of the game. It's also documented that he was couriering a large amount of cash in an operation when he happened to be in a casino. Some thunder gob, with a woman on either side, and champagne sufficient to float a battle ship in at the front of him, raised the stakes to a level that nobody could match. Our man, "Bond" stacked the cash he was carrying, on behalf of our government, on the table, and the big mouth couldn't match it. Just the kind of thing 21st century James Bond would do. Apparently there was hell to play, but he got away with it surprise, surprise. I seem to remember that he finally retired to a pleasant resort on The Black Sea, which begs the question, "What side was the real James Bond working for when he became of pension age, bearing in mind that the iron curtain was still in place when he hung his holster up. I also believe that the guy was well known to Ian Fleming, and that's how he got the inside information on the world of espionage, on which the whole Bond legend is based.

I believe it's fact. It was something that I did read many years ago long before the weird and wonderful world of cyberspace courtship was invented. The last thing that I expected at the time was that I'd be raking up the info stored in the archive of my own built in overhead computer, on a forum of a swinger web site. Should any facts that need clarification, with us having the information super highway here at our fingertips, it shouldn't takea lot of finding out.

Last two I saw at the cinema were Octopussy and Never say never again.......ever, not never, no how....sorry.

It's all about the third nipple for me.

Also the transexual bond girl. Love the Bassey diamonds and giant Jaws.

Woody Allen's Smersh, while Jill St John turns me on.

My favourite role play is to tie a hubby naked to a chair, he being Bond. Then his wife and me play two evil villainesses from the devilish organisation Smash.

We then lube up his cock n balls and tease the fuck out of it, taking turns sucking, wanking and sitting on it.

He's not allowed to cum because if he does the laser beam from space will destroy the earth.

"Love Dalton, thought his films allowed the character to grow and eventually create the Craig 007.

I was so patriotic then, not so much now but I’ll leave that for another thread "

I'm vaguely familiar with the Philby, Burgess, and McLean scenario, as indeed I am reasonably well versed on the subject of the Portland spy ring involving Harry Houghton and Ethel Gee, my late father being master of Naval Auxiliary Ship based at Portland in the 1970s. Philby, Burgess and McLean were simply a trio of misfits in a society where their sexuality was still unacceptable to the establishment, and so were very susceptible to entertaining alternative ideas. That is pretty well documented! However what is not in dispute is Ian Fleming's role in wartime special operations, or the elite squad that he put together for special operations. The comments I made earlier are based on an article I read many years ago, but today I was at a loose end for a few minutes, and my thoughts turned to, "The real James Bond." So I googled it just for the hell of it. I was quite astounded at the theories now being put forward these days as to who the real James Bond was, and you OP being a Bridgend girl, and all the Welsh boys are going to love this one. James Charles Bond was from Swansea! The story of how he served under Ian Fleming in secret special wartime operations is all their for you to read by googling, "The Real James Bond," and scrolling down till you get the article which includes a photo of his grave marked James Charles Bond, and the family have inscribed 007 on it. Now I'm not Welsh, I was born just across the water from Sean Connery, but Wales is my adopted second home, but if any Welsh boys with the surname Bond are on here, and you happen to pull because you may just be able to claim that you are decended from the real James Bond, that's a pint you owe me!

Anyone seen the article on MSN today, "Affordable Bond Cars"? Whilst the world and his dog dream of Aston Martin classics, apparently Bond drove everything from a humble Citroen 2cv to a Leyland Sherpa van, with everything in between including a Renault 11 and a Ford Mondeo, with a few BMW's thrown in. Now I've never really stood in front of the mirror combing my hair and thought, "My name is Bond, James Bond," But I could have been forgiven for thinking so the day I drove back from Swansea Car Auction in a BMW 730i that I'd picked up for £2,800. I didn't even think that I was driving a James Bond car until I read an article on the making of, Tomorrow Never Dies, where rather than write off a BMW 750 V12, they rebadged a 730 just like mine, and fired it through the window of an Avis car rental office. So I really have owned a James Bond car only I didn't put V12 badges on mine. Anyone else on here currently running around in James Bond cars at a knock down price???

Daniel Craig was probably the 4th best Bond. People rate him so much as he's the newish Bond. Everyone probably rate the new Bond the best after a couple of films lol

That's not true for me, i wasn't keen on any previous Bonds until Daniel Craig came along.

"What nobody has mentioned, but I am sure that everyone is aware of is that the Ian Fleming's character James Bond is actually based on a real live wartime spy who was the original double agent who ran with the hare's and hunted with the hounds. I haven't heard any of this before... Is it hearsay or fact?

*See Philby,Burgess and McLean (laugh) to bring some reality to all this!

Now I'm not Welsh, I was born just across the water from Sean Connery, but Wales is my adopted second home, but if any Welsh boys with the surname Bond are on here, and you happen to pull because you may just be able to claim that you are decended from the real James Bond, that's a pint you owe me!"

Did any of the 'misfits' you have mentioned end up being given any responsibilties during their time of 'service' for the british?

Was Anthony Blunt a misfit too?

Was 30 Commando or 30AU larger than 'Ian Flemings elite squad'?

I like the layers you are adding to the James Bond story and I am adding a few more.

The early Sean Connery films were outstanding, especially Goldfinger. In the 1960s I owned as a very young boy the Dinky toy Aston Martin with its famous ejector seat and the miniature Odd Job who would go flying out from the car. You pressed another knob and machine guns flicked out at the front. Unfortunately, my parents failed to keep for me this iconic toy!

Daniel Craig gave the role its humor again .

The scene in Casino Royale being tortured by LeCheif when strapped to the chair.

Have to be honest..just back from watching it

Its an hour too long and the story itself is crap

I really wanted to like this film but I know if I was flicking past sky movies and this was on I wouldn't stop to watch it again

Probably the first Bond I could say that about

Really..... see for me it's up there with the best Bond movie ever. The story was quite complex and the first one I really found if you hadn't watched the other movies you wouldn't know what had happened

I think that some of the twists in the story you could see a long way off.

Then others caught you by surprise.

Personally I found Quantum of Solace to be the least favourite.

Went to see it tonight, really disappointed. Too slow and drawn out. One of the worst bond films I've watched.

Just seen it. I think the plot was diluted, and the petty political correctness irritated me.

"Super excited I've just bought tickets to watch the new film this weekend! My all time favourite is A View to a Kill, but love all of the Daniel Craig stuff, I feel he's modernised the role.

Anyone else into Bond? What's your favourite?

I'm a massive fan of our 'Jimmy'.

Favourite film - Casino Royale

Favourite Bond - Pierce

Favourite car - Aston Martin V8 (The Living Daylights).

I wasn't much interested in James Bond films until Daniel Craig was 007, i possibly watched them all but only once whereas with Daniel Craig i watch them all several times. I disliked SC and RM most.
