Hugo Boss.

While the fashion itself didn't change the world, it certainly outfitted the maniacs of W.W.II Germany.

"They convinced the world its important....."

Just because it isn’t important to you, doesn’t mean they aren’t. Actual designers do lots of research and take inspiration from anything around them, so it’s a form of art really. Even if it’s RTW (ready to wear) it can look beautiful and totally unaccessible for most people. plus, let’s not even mention some of the craftsmanship behind some of the creations. Designers and fashion houses sell dreams, just like artists sell dream when they make music or a film or art in general!

Thank god for these people otherwise the world would be totally boring…

Did fashion change the world???? Surely all fashion does is reflect whats happening? so lets say up to WW1 fashion followed the king/queen.. post ww1 reflected a more open society.. post ww2 even more so and the invention of teenagers with money..led to jeans with huge holes in them in 2021 and 3rd world exploitation... Now fashion and throwaway clothes is trying to go green.

But that’s the consumers fault partially, for falling for the fast fashion trap and going to primark to buy new clothes every time they need to go on a night out and chuck them out right after cos it’s cheap shit.

Like let’s be honest, it’s the same as fast food… You have to partially blame the people who are s1aves of consumerism …

And I want to mention quality over quantity and luxury fashion houses work differently from cheap fast fashion brands (like Boohoo etc, they are the worst. Never buy from them, there’s a reason why their stuff is cheap to buy)

Fashion absolutely changed the world. And I’m my view it really kicked off with the Aristocracies.

Then came WW1 and its aftermath & into the 1920’s when it became more accessible to the upcoming middle classes, it was the advent of WW2 that fashion designers had to get creative and design items from heavily rationed materials (bar Hugo Boss, he designed the uniforms for the Nazi’s).

I still say the 50’s/60’s/70’s were the pivotal change in the fashion industry, when you had the likes of Dior, Saint Laurent, Coco Chanel, Givinchy, Louboutin etc in their prime!

Yes, I mean we could have a huge list of names of people who changed and added so much in fashion and changed the world in their own ways, making new clothes or actually making new trends.

Galliano was one when he worked at Dior, same as Alexander Mcqueen, Tom Ford at Gucci, Alessandro Michele at Gucci the past few years (he definitely added his imprint in the genderless clothes where you could wear any and look kinda cool) etc etc etc x

Worthing

It's not changed much in 30 years. I think casual wear has more or less stayed the same. Yet go back 30 years from 1991 to 1961 and there was a LOT of change.
