GOOD FUCKING GOD !
I've run the gauntlet at the P.O. and the bank today simply because I wanted to withdraw £1000 cash.
I kept up the stupid old woman act and answered their fucking highly irrelevant and inane questions... because I don't like public displays and tantrums ( mine )
Don't say 'it's for security' ....... don't ..... ffs....... don't.
Its a grand !! Not a fucking nuff to pay for HS2 !!
Anyone else finding getting cash a prob ?

"I get payed in cash still so that's not a problem ...
But using cash is ... Christ even some bars won't accept cash now and that's beyond a fucking joke "
You would have been in your element in our local shop this morning.
Internet was down, so cash only.
The number of people who had to turn around and walk back out cos they only had a card. Notice on the door , they obviously don’t read either.
Best bit was, all the numpties panick buying fuel. Clogging up a usually pretty empty forecourt and queuing out onto the road. Then having got to the pump only to find a big notice on there saying ‘ CASH ONLY’ |

"Carry cash AND a card..... "
I think it's the only way. If the net goes down we're basically screwed. A more cynical person than I might be concerned about that and the power it might give to certain people... |

Oh this drives me insane… the not so subtle questioning as to what the money is for to check your not using it for something fraudulent.. or paying trades in cash so heaven forbid they may not pay full tax etc..
I get they need to check your not being scammed.. but ffs it’s my business what it’s for, so butt out..
I’d be quite tempted next time to say I was using it to pay for a high class male escort next time I’m asked.
(Been doing renovations the past year.. so you can guess it’s high on the list of my bugbears!) |

Last time I went in the bank on a Saturday (because hey I work during the week) the counter wasn’t even open so I couldn’t even get My cash from My account as the cash points have limits on withdrawals) |

I always prefer to carry cash and pay for everything in cash when I can, I feel it helps me really feel like I'm enjoying spending my money and also keep note of what I'm actually spending and what I have left in my disposable income. |

I work in the financial services sector, so I know precisely the rigmarole with regulatory etc etc. But good grief it comes across as excessive in some areas. |

It has to be or bang goes your job if you are slack at the security side of it. That's the part people don't realise when they have to wait 2 more minutes for something to be done. |

We had a similar problem but not with going into the bank.
We needed to transfer money from one account to another and had to do it stages as the daily transfer limit is quite low. |

Oh yus, I work in the data protection/security side of it. I've seen waaay too many close calls for my own liking. Is why, personally, I don't get upset when asked for details etc. |

It is if you're transferring between your own accounts but transferring from one person's account to another seems to have been the problem. |

damn there's a flaw in the system there.
I told our son once I didn't have the money to get him something he was asking for, with all the innocence of his five years he said "get some from the bank" |

Took £1200 out once to put into an ISA with a different bank. No questions asked, but that was in a bank not a post office. |

Usually carry a cash float of around £100 in case the internet is down at supermarket or filling station. (3 times in past year).
Also pay my window cleaner, gardener, car valeter and house cleaner in cash.
Last year sold my MX5 for cash, if you think getting cash out of the bank is hard work try paying cash in, real third degree situation. |

I pay for most things electronically, but still carry a card because my barber and the odd cafe only take cash, so I need to draw it. I believe in Sweden cash is hardly used. It's the opposite to here. |

I thought some banks had ATMs inside that let you withdraw larger amounts?
I know Ive taken a few K out from them a few times, but it has been a while so they may have been withdrawn... |

I’m still a cash kinda guy.
I don’t feel comfortable without at least half a dozen notes in my wallet.
Quite a few of the proper old school pubs around me don’t take card and I love to pop in occasionally. |
