Would you be annoyed or impressed if someone copied something of yours to pass off as their own?
Today I’ve had multiple messages from various women telling me that sone photoless silhouette has copied my tagline (that I’ve had for YEARS).
I jokingly messaged him telling him I know what he’s done and he changed his rating and replied asking was that any better!!!
So, the question I should ask is “should I be flattered or annoyed?” |

"Neither, You prob 'borrowed' it from someone else anyhow."
Nope. I was on trip adviser and asked the ex which bed she’d like to snuggle up to me on and she joked that she’d rather spoon and it hit me….SPOON ADVISER!!!
It’s a million dollar idea!!! I’m going to be rich |

I've had 3 people that I know of take my pics as their own in the last year and 2 of them copied and pasted my entire bio also but were too lazy to remove my profile name from the last paragraph.
I have been told that I should be flattered but I wasn't at all especially when some of my pics were sent in abusive messages to women.
I wouldn't have known anything about it if some of the women hadn't recognised the pics and the bio and told me.
One of the profiles was a regular forum poster who continued to post for months after being challenged. |

Had this happen to me and I was both annoyed and impressed
Annoyed as some off the messages they send weren’t on the nice side
Also impressed that I am so hot that someone wants to be me so badly |

Flattered. For ages I had a line about "insert original header here" and then "the thinking man's strumpet" and I've noticed them appearing on other profiles after. Even the whole line about me not meeting and I understand their disappointment, I would be too.
It's not worth getting worked up about, people see something they like and tweak it. Besides, you're the original *I forgot what it was sorry*. |

"We've had pictures and profile text copied. We weren't flattered or annoyed just shrugged and reported the pictures. "
I’m feeling like I should be offended that he didn’t seal my photos too
It must have been horrible to see your pics used by someone else though |

My old tagine appeared a few times elsewhere.
I was perplexed to start with and a little frustrated but then I thought "fuck it ya plank, people will know you've nicked it off me anyway"
I don't think my current one will do them any favours mind |

We laughed because they were waaay younger than us. It was soon dealt with by admin anyway.
We've all had that friend who copies everything you or someone else wears, it's insecurity I suppose. My mum used to say "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" |

I'd someone actually used photos of mine I'd be pissed and report.
Doing the same pic of themselves, flattered.
Anything I write wouldn't bother me unless they literally copied and pasted my whole bio.... Which as it stands is barely anything anyway.
Sometimes (actually quite often) people put things much better than I do so maybe I'd be inspired by them. |

Years ago on yahoo someone took one of my pictures and used it as their profile picture
Only found out when my friend who took the picture came across it |

I have had my pictures used twice on profiles. One even messaged me wanting to meet, saying he was part of a couple. When I asked if it was his wife in the profile picture he said yes. I said that's funny I have never met you and have never been married so not sure how I can be your wife. He deleted the pictures and messaged saying sorry but can we still meet ?? |

"Did you invent NYC and Sausage then or did you steal them..??"
If you’re going to join in the fun in future then please make sure it’s valid before you do.
No I did not invent NYC or sausages. Nor did I see the name The NYCSausage writ down somewhere and copied it exactly word for word. |

Why is my question not valid and what

Passed Beyond Reach |
Depends, we have had pictures stolen of our couples profile and tuning up on others profiles, to add insult then been accused of stealing our own photos, reported to admin etc.
Often in chat I have told a story about something that happened or experiences, only to find a few days later what I'd said was being repeated by others almost verbatim, as if it was their story their experiences could be considered flattery. Even in th forums is has happened.
I see many times quotes I have made in forum posts being used by others.

Every time someone starts a thread asking for profile advice I usually respond by telling them not to make their bio a ticklist of suggestions from other posters. Make their profile their own. Nobody could sustain that and it would backfire on them.
I wasn't flattered when mine was stolen in its entirety because it was a lazy approach. I may have been able to see the funny side of it if they had been new profiles but they were established members who may actually have been here longer than me so why they decided to do it was a mystery.
As I said in my previous post above the fact that they sent my watermarked pics to women as their own had to be some form of trolling or a deliberate attempt to discredit me.
When they were challenged by some of women they became aggressive and abusive which once again had the potential to paint me in a bad light.
Once was bad enough but for it to happen 3 times in the space of 8 weeks led me to believe it was more than a coincidence. |

Look at any good product out there and you'll find someone has copied it.
It's just part of life, with others wanting to jump on your bandwagon.
I see it as kind of flattering, and yet somewhat pesky!
