Drives me nuts. I assumed it had come from the americanisation and general dumming down of commentary teams. But apparently its because its sexist (according to some ecb twonk who was on the radio yesterday).

batsman batswoman fireman firewoman policeman policewoman it aint hard makes it easyer in the rule book to use a general term but in normal speak i dont see a problem with batsman batswoman |
