Been thinking.....(yes it happens occasionally)all these female members that seem to have a problem with these "abusive messages" and getting messages from people they dont wish to communicate with, or getting comments on their pictures they dont like.....i wish to ask......
Why dont YOU message the guys YOU are interested in? And ignore the rest?  |

I must admit to being a bit lazy about making initial contact with people, possibly also a bit lacking in confidence..so all my meets ,so far, have come from other people initiating the contact..and yes I've had some fantastic meets because of it. Maybe I should be a little more pro-active though.  |

It all makes for good entertainment value! My delete and block finger (second/middle whichever you wish to call it!) gets terrible RSI on occasion.   |

Besides, I might miss something if I systematically ignore all men. There are a lot to work my way through!
I still don't see why men can't be expected to read profiles and not behave like randy teenagers. It's not really asking a lot. |

You have stated before now and on a few occasions actually that man A said this or man B said another that wasnt to your liking.....so why wont YOU take the initiative to message the guys you want? As for men acting like randy teenagers, why dont some women stop thinking a repeat meet means a baby shower and a walk up the aisle? See what im doing here? |

I love it when girls are pro-active. Even if you're not interested, it's always nice to know someone likes the sound and look of you.
I always respond to them regardless, out of politeness, anyway.
I realise with the volume of messages the average lady receives on here, that just wouldn't be possible  |

Having recently seen the inbox (no any sort of euphemism) of a lady i know on here i am not sure i would swap the zero messages i get (actually i got one yesterday and will def meet the lady at some point) for her 209 messages of total shite.
At least if i mail someone it doesnt say 'nice tits, want to come to my place in Glasgow this evening' she lives in Derbyshire ffs |

I would go with that point and think its why many don't use the filters. Its all an ego boost for some women getting lots of mail and feeling popular and if it works for them building a little self esteem then fair play. After all some women have had kids and other events in life and really don't feel confident in making the first move. They feel more confident in going through what's offered rather tan going out for what they really want. |

Simple answer is that I do message guys I like.
Where did I say all men are a pain in the arse? I said I don't see why they can't be expected to read profiles. I didn't say none read profiles, just that it's not unreasonable to expect they should.
As for repeats, no thanks means no thanks, not please try again in a week, pretending you haven't messaged me before. It's nothing to do with weddings, more I didn't fancy you a week ago, why would I fancy you now?
I deal with repeats by blocking them. But it doesn't excuse them pestering people who have said no thank you.
Do I see what you're doing? Well it looks like you're justifying laziness on the part of some men and putting the onus on the people they message to deal with it. Or have I misunderstood?
Why should men not be expected to behave like adults here? I've heard lazy and/or rude behaviour (from some, not all) excused a lot but I've not heard a good reason it should be. |

It's a nice idea and a very admirable sentiment. Can't see it catching on though.
Shame though, the one time I got a message from a couple, an actual proper couple (not just the guy) it felt great.
Trouble is some guys in particular would latch on to you like a limpet to what in your eyes was just an initial contact. And your back to square one with a nutter stalking you. |

What about a really random idea...
1. you see someone on fab you thing 'yummy' or whatever word your mind uses.
2. you send them a nice perhaps amusing maybe risque, but in no way fithy or rude message.
3. you wait
4. you get a reply that is either 'yes come get me ' or 'sorry not interested'.
5 if its the former continue comunication.
6 if its the latter 'o nothing esle' and move on to the next person you see that is 'yummy'.
7. in no way send repeat messages asking 'why' or insults .

Pain in the arse= figure of speech my words.....this is what YOU are saying in your recent posts and some threads you have put up....its almost like *sigh* its so hard to be you.... as you have to put up with all these men sending you messages you dont like....this is how you are coming across, i just think there needs to be balance, its seems a bit rich that you are asking for men to stop behaving like "randy teenagers" yet you see fit to put veiled moans on the forums...theres is a pattern forming, i have noticed, i dont expect you to see that at all....but there is a solution to your problem.....you just seem to want to ignore it, and will always come back with something else you are not happy with i this respect....when im not happy about something i do something about it...i dont expect others to do it for me.....if you say you message guys n get meets from it i dont see why the others bother you....as for crude messages.....if they hurt your sensitivities delete n ignore.....donkey that sat on thistle n wouldnt get up syndrome is my point of _iew  |

but this is a site for enjoyment and fun namely the profile owners fun.
if you are having a bad day and need to vent fine but blaming fab for men women couples etc isnt actually fair
there are 2 sides to all stories and posts and allot of people don't think that!
i have fun and if i need a break from it i do i use this site for my enjoyment and fun the day it becomes tiresome or not fun i will leave

fear of rejection.... the way it is at the moment they are the ones who do the picking...
mind you... you should see some of the messages I have no thank you to from women... and the ones I get after...
I'm guessing some couples and women on here would and do take rejection as bad as apparently some single blokes do... |

just respect others in messages and replies
delete anything you don't like
report the offensive ones
utilise the filters that best suit your needs
be proactive
but most of all, keep your feet on the ground: getting meets, attention & fawning in Chat, Forums & Clubs can create bigger divas than Mariah with PMT.....
the day you forget, usually first day of your downfall.

Yeah, there wasn't enough interest and anyway, thought it would be pointless as everyone would end up in the hedges
But on a serious note, we have messaged a few ladies and gents and have had some real nice meets, 1 forum reg (never mention no names) has become a good friend and we have met her a few times
So it does work to message others.

I've suggested this to people I've met that complained of the volume of messages and the concept just flies over their head.
Maybe this site could take badoo's approach and have a yes/no/maybe thing so guys could at least have a clue if they're gonna be wasting their time messaging some people. |

I dunno... there are enough functions available to use to prevent people sending repeat message if you or anyone doesn't like finding them in their inbox.... whether they are sent by accident or not.
But it does make me roll my eyes when in one thread you see a bunch of women slagging guys off for they way they message people and adding comments like "is it too much to ask to expect.....blar blar balr" .... but a few threads later they post that they never message guys first.... for whatever bolloxy reason.
