Haven't listened to Revolver, from start to finish, in forever and fucking hell I'd forgotten how amazing it is.
Anyone had similar experiences lately? By all means post your fav albums, but I'm more interested in the greats you needed reminding of. |

"Currently working my way through the Depeche Mode back catalogue- bloody hell are they good!!!! "
Very underrated band in this country. The rest of the world treats them like gods. Them in Prague is in my top ten gigs of all time. |

A few from my teens:
A Country Life - Roxy Music, totally for the album cover which was better than Playboy for a teenage boy
Graceland - Paul Simon. Totally different sound to anything I had heard before due to the South African influence he infused into the songs. |

"After Charlie Watts death I re-listened to all the Stones' early-mid 70's albums. An incredible run of classics with Mick Taylor in the band."
The Rolling Stones play the blues is rather fine, all the classics that inspired them way back- think you can find the entire album on YouTube with a dig round |

"War of the worlds sprang to mind...been years since I've heard that.
And, ELO...loved them back in the day."
I like some ELO hits. You know exactly which ones. Always assumed they were a "singles band" any albums I should try? |

More raw live. Too polished amd over produced on record for my tastes. |

Absolutely awesome live see them at least twice and each time they got better..as for 'putting on a show' second to none especially the Drones tour |

a new world record preceded it think they were at thyre zenith with those two
the later time album saw the band stripped down to three members and a whold different sound

Not exactly a rediscover, as I’ve had it ages and played it reasonably often,- but played Fat of the Land by Prodigy on a new system recently and was blown away by just how awesome the quality of the production is on it. The bass is punchy and meaty, the mid and tops are all given lots of breathing space and the whole thing is a delight of beautifully crafted aural perfection I’m enjoying in a whole new way to when I first heard it in the crazy days of the 90’s rave scene (so glad I got to see them several times over the last quarter century- they just kept getting better and better live!) |

My mates used to take the piss out of me for liking the prodigy (or any repetitivr beats sounds) till this album came out and they "got" it. |

"Nirvana ~ nevermind.
Still gives me the goosey bump feels whenever I stumble across tracks on my playlists."
Nirvana never leave my ears. While I have a vinyl copy of this I've not gone start to finish in a very long time. Will do soon. |

"Firm favourite of mine is the miseducation of Lauryn Hill"
This album is wonderful. I bought about 5 copies of it. Girl I was living with at the time hated it and whenever I played it and someone said they liked it she gave it to them. "Here, have this copy" I just bought another and she groaned |

Is there an album I should go for? Always wondered about The Carpenters. I think I might like |

Luckily, my mates were fellow space cadets- so The Prodge was a frequent warm up on the old car tape deck on the way to an all nighter |

I like The Singles 1969-1973 for the original songs.
Or her brother worked on an album called The Carpenters with the Royal Philamonic Orchestra, which is the Carpenters' original vocal and instrumental tracks accompanied by new orchestral arrangements by RPO

"Any albums I forgot... needed forgetting.. "
Evidently Chickentown implies you have great taste. I reckon you know so many good albums you've forgotten just how good one or two of them are. |

The missing years - John Prine
An American prayer - Jim Morrison
The Living Years - mike and the mechanics
Homegrown - Dodgy"
I remember preferring Dodgy's first album when I was young. Not heard either in years. |

"Counting crows- autumn and everything after "
The best album they have done by a mile.
I've started listening to it again recently and it doesn't age.
Not many bands don't manage to surpass there first album. |

also portisheads 'dummy' ... utterly brilliant"
I probably play all three Portishead albums every other week as a minimum, not many bands can boast to have 100% of their album content to be brilliant with no filler (possibly why they've only managed three in just under 30 years *pftttt!- continues waiting impatiently *) |

I disagree- I think Delta Machine, Playing the angel and Sounds of the universe are great- loads of classic epic, big sounding DM quality |

I always meant to get into King Crimson. I know a bloke used to play bass for them way back before... |

White ladder by David Gray. What an album - even the hidden track at -1 on the CD!
Also a slightly more embarrassing one, but one I love none the less, Joyride by Roxette. There you go, I've said it. |

Guano apes - Proud like a god, it occasionally crops up on my Spotify and as soon as the funky bass line starts on lord of the boards I’m back on a set of skates doing back flips downstairs, in my mind |

Very rarely play albums these days (although Now It's Christmas was in the CD player in the run up!). Back in the day the self-titled debut from Asia was an absolute classic. Got the album on picture disc.
