I love both for different reasons. In my house the cat rules the roost. My pup wants to be friends , the cat is having none of it. When out and about I identity people by their dogs name !

We have, in the last three months come to own a most beautiful kitten (or course!), Both myself and my husband wasn't really cat people but I wanted a baby, he wanted a dog so we settled on a cat! He is a Siamese mix domestic short haired, black and white with the most gorgeous paws that look like socks.
I mean be was currently just scaling doughnuts leg but we love him, despite the nick name murder mittens!
His name is Vex Derek.

Cat person, I find dogs to be too much that don't always understand boundaries, having never owned one I've only dealt with others pets and they can be a bit...dopey.
Once had a quote to do at a customers and on walking in with shorts on...their small yippee dog decided to stop yapping and luck my bare shin for the entire time I was quoting for this woman...not wanting to be rude I laughed it off.
Cats know their place and most of the time respect boundaries and their own space.

Dogs are adorable and I love them, but they're needy as fuck, so cats for their aloof independence. Admirable traits and cute too.
I was a cat in a prev life I'm sure of it. |

Both. But I’m away often for a couple days at a time and can’t leave a dog like that. The cats are happy with a couple very full bowls of food and water and access through the cat flap. They don’t even miss me while I’m gone |

Both... I have 2 of each... the dogs adore the cats... the cats... cope with the dogs. One mutt is a 35 kilo (tiny) rottweiler who runs in fear if Glory (cat..15 years old about 2lbs) is in a bad mood... its hilarious!! |

Dogs, unconditional love.
Cats couldn't give a toss about anyone but themselves.
Case in point, rescue dog, sniffer dog, guide dog, cat shits in a box and kills things.
If they could handle a tin opener you'd never see them |

They sound gorgeous. At one point we had nine and a litter of 8 puppies. That was one noisy house lol x |

I have four cats and one dog (as well as chickens and a horse) but I am sure the dog thinks she is a cat... She is a rescue from Romania so not massive, only 7.5kg, good dose of terrier in her but so placid. I love her as much as I love my cats and she comes everywhere with me.
I’ve just been away for a few days and since I got home my cats have all been dotted around close by when normally they would be out or upstairs so I think they have missed me. They all come when called and I think they think the dog is one of them...
I’ll talk about my animals for hours |

I can almost tolerate dogs but it's Cats for me.
My brother has always had rescue centre Cats, which have had "issues" with Men, but in my presence, they purr contentedly and are so well behaved with me!
In one job location from 1998 - 2006, we'd a colony of Feral Cats. The Mother and Female of them all would only be friendly, show affection, or approach me, but other guys had no chance!
When our site closed, the RSPCA found a farm home out in the Country to rehouse all the colony. Inspectors saw how the family accepted only me to handle them and place them in Transport Cages and said I'd some form of affinity with them. |

Cats, definitely. I love all animals and dogs are loveable - as long as they are other peoples'.
Dogs take too much effort, having to walk them in all kinds of weathers and I don't like their smell.
Our current cats are rescues and part of the deal in getting them was that they had to be house cats. However, all my previous cats would go walks with me - but on their terms (and in good weather). |

Definitely cats, thought there are a couple of breeds of dogs I'd consider in a moment if weakness. It's the fact that owning one restricts your options that puts me off (and that they don't bury their own poop!). |

I have never had a dog due to circumstances and work etc but one day we would love to have a dog and would want to share our love of the great outdoors with it (hiking and running)
I have had cats and would like a cat again one day to grow up with the dog, although my better half is not a fan of cats.

I lost my faithful pet dog a few months ago and cried for a fortnight after her.
We've got a pup now and even though she's wrecking the place I already love her.
We've always had dogs, they love the attention and affection. Cats are more independent creatures. |
