Brilliant player for Chelsea, AC Milan, West Ham, England but most of all, Spurs. Probably still underappreciated as most of his games were not filmed or televised.

RIP Sir James

Oh.

Forgot that sarcasm doesn’t come across in text very well.

What I mean is that I didn’t need to hear that information here on my Sunday morning.

RIP Jimmy.

Not old enough to have seen him play but his goalscoring record speaks for itself.

I used to love Saint & Greavsie as a kid!

Grew up on Saint & Greavesie when, barring the rather dry Football Focus, it was the only show in town.

So RIP Greavesie. I'm sure the tribute at the Spurs v Chelsea game later will be fantastic.

I think a lot of people assume from his stats that Greaves was 'just' a goalscorer but he also had fantastic touch and control, often scoring after beating several players with skill and speed. He was actually very similar to Lionel Messi in his style and build.

On a mooch

The man that got me interested in football, along with Iain St John, watching their show as a teenager.

RIP to a true legend, not just for our club but the wider sporting world

RIP Jimmy Greaves I remember watching him on Saint & Greaves and watching videos of him and no doubt he was a great player. My dad was a Tottenham supporter who passed away in 2012 but I remember him saying there will never be another Jimmy Greaves. As good as Harry Kane is I am fairly certain my dad is still saying there will never be another Jimmy Greaves

Almost a Derby player, Ace. I believe Clough wanted to sign him.
