So I am a dark thick haired girl. Until recently I had a small area of pubic hair (I plucked the hair off up until a landing strip sized area)
This was neat and I didn’t have a stubbled area around , it was lovely and smooth.
I recently started shaving , due to wanting to achieve “neatness” in a quick frame of time after spontaneous meets, however this has created ingrown hairs , rash looking patches and a general (in my opinion) unpleasant look comparatively.
I’d like to ask,
LADIES - for the porn star style smoothness and beautiful skin comparable to skin anywhere else on your body , what do I do apart from salon waxing ? ALSO, I’ve never had a wax , do they get really in there underneath , all around and in the crevices ? How painful, how embarrassing etc?
MEN- do you look at a shaven pubic area on a lady and feel a little grossed by the ingrown hair, stubbled bits , spots and sore looking shaved pussy?(I have seen all sorts of pics on here with all levels of the shaved pussy symptoms) are men too polite to ever mention or do they literally not care at all and never noticed ?
I feel like it’s one of those things people don’t address or talk about . Opinions and views wanted please |

If you go for a Hollywood or Brazilian etc, yes they will get right in there
As for embarrassing, no not really. They've seen literally hundreds of vulvas, I'm sure yours is lovely but I bet your waxer doesn't care about it one bit |

I don’t find any issues with waxing as I have a high pain threshold, I used to do my own waxing. What about an electric razor? They don’t cut as close to the skin but leave a smooth finish and convenient to use every few days. |

I shave at the moment so I can feel your pain RE ingrown hairs but I used to wax which wasn't too painful as long as the hair wasn't tooooo long. I prefer getting waxed but sadly it's just too expensive for me at the moment |

First few times i had same issie with rash and ingrown hairs. Secret is to trim as short as possible first, very hot water, and a fresh blade. Its unrealistic to expect totally clean every time and i wouldnt be put off as such. Trimmed and neat is better than smooth and acne-fied imo

"Don’t care and don’t mind and also wondered if the obsession with an area looking pre-pubescent isn’t just a tad creepy and forced upon people in an age of following what they see."
More to do with touch texture and hairballs than the visual |

Shaving with a razor doesn't make your hair thicker. You probably Shaving again the grain and therefore actually pushing your hair folical under the skin resulting in ingrowing hairs. Its normal. Try waxing as an alternative. |

Not talking about it hanging down in plaits. As you said on the other post neatly trimmed is perfectly acceptable. |

Westy , I think my motivation was the cleanliness and the ease of cleanliness and it coming across as mutually polite. I hadn’t actually thought of the “appeal to men” part of it , I was just fed up of the time it took to maintain a grown but neat area of hair. I’m happy with the hair but it’s still gotta be neat not left wild , but it became easier and quicker to whip it all off , that’s why I’ve asked what men think as I hadn’t actually considered the visual appeal x |

Ruby…I wasn’t calling you out on your motives so I sincerely apologize if you think I was x
It was more a general comment.
Really sorry if you thought it was an attack on you. I think your post asking for advice and comment we a good thing! |

Exfoliate the area to shave first.
Apply a very thin layer of conditioner on the hair, not shave foam/gel as it's harsh on the skin.
Use a fresh razor if you can.
Shave down the hair gently not up against it and don't keep going over the same area as you will irritate the skin more.
Once all done, shower off the conditioner and exfoliate again to prevent ingrown hair.
Then use a moisturising oil or cream a few times a day , every day and the skin won't react and cause rashes or spots.
I've always stuck to the above after a specialist told me those bits of info and never had an issue since. |

Oh no I just didn’t want it to come across as I felt it was based on what someone else wanted etc , but I’ve heard that a few times about the “why bald like a pre-pub” but I don’t think it’s like that for women doing it |

I understand completely what your saying, couldn’t get to the salon so shaved, worse mistake I ever made, ingrowing hairs and itchy with regrowth, all men I’ve met have said they don’t mind the stubble in between waxes. As for the waxing, I have the Hollywood and yes they they get in everywhere, I don’t find it as painful as my eyebrows |

Waxing is the best, just need to get those first few waxes and into a regular cycle of having them. Keeps nice and smooth for much longer. I’ve never found it embarrassing, even on all fours getting the ass crack waxed it’s their job these ladies see it every day. First time having one is generally the most painful but after that is not so bad x |
