I have raced at both tracks, out of them, from a drivers perspective, I prefer Donington national ( I found the hairpin didn’t add anything on the GP circuit.) it is more 3D as Silverstone is quite flat. Two places to watch, on the downhill, on Cramers Curves there is a dip in the circuit on the left hand side, your suspension slams down and you get all the grip you need to go full pelt … but if you miss it and you are already committed … you are buggered!
The other is at Coppice, you get to the top of the climb and you hit the corner while the track levels out, you lose grip for a while before you hit the road again, fine it it is a nice day but the slightest bit of damp and it is where the fuel from the airplanes settles from the airport and it is like an ice rink  . Have a great time lads, maybe I will pop up  |

Me too pal, its 4 miles from me so regularly do trackdays there, i love it, but agree... when it rains it may aswell rain ice  |

I missed the dip on the way down in the rain, over steered at the old hairpin and went onto the grass at the bottom of the hill. The water and mud went up like a sheet and poured over me … the lot was caught on my on board telemetry including the use of old English as it happened
Donington reminds me of paddock bend at brands hatch, lost the side of my car to a spinner on there… great times. I may have seen you at one of the track days. |
