"Are they good or bad and why do I find them funny? "

They are full of fat and made of skin so I would say bad.

Probably bad for one's health due to the high saturated fat and salt content, however, I love them.

Try making your own, with less salt, and more aromatic by rubbing some Chinese 5-spice powder on them.

My local supermarket sells pork skin along with other meat products for peeps to make their own at home.

I should make my own really as it would be cheaper.

Don't like the Prime Cuts, as I find them a lot harder to eat!

I also like Pork Crunch, less salty and easier on the teeth!

Tom Kitchin makes scrummy crispy pigs ears which are even more delicious than pork scratchings.

Now you are talking home made scratchings sound the real deal. So Chinese 5-spice powder and salt is the way to go.

The ones I had in Spain were just deep fried thinly cut strips of pigs ears, dusted with salt, nothing fancy.

At the same bar, I had deep fried little chillis in olive oil, with just a dusting of salt. They tasted so good I had 2 plates. Big mistake as I found out the next day, LOL!

They need to be cook at high heat, and the fat will splatter over the inside of the oven and burn etc...

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Do you find them funny because you get an image of pigs scratching themselves?

Yup, both myself, as well as the dog, have lost a tooth to pork scratchings.

I *think* it was pork scratching that caused the dog to crack one of his tooth, however, I could be wrong.

He only gets pork crunch, or small pieces of pork scratchings nowadays.

No more prime cuts!
