Zane Lowe was desperate to be half as good as John Peel- he failed miserably as peel was head and shoulders above everyone else in the way popular and left field music was shaped for the best part of 40 years. I can’t think of another R1 DJ with such universal and wide reaching respect, Annie Nightingale and possibly Pete Tong being the closest |
